“Your ex stopped by to visit you. She left these and asked me to give them to you.” Mandy said, tossing red lace panties at me.

My eyes widened, horrified. “No, Mandy, that’s not what you think.”

I tossed them into the nearest trash can. I reached out, trying to touch her, but she flinched, immediately pulling away from me.

“Leave me alone!” she said in a hateful tone.

“Mandy, I can explain it. I’ve had nothing to do with Jessica,” I said.

“Sure. We’re both women that you use and fuck. You satisfy your needs and toss us away. Then bring us back when you feel you want us again.” Mandy snapped.

“What exactly was Jessica doing in my house?”

“She came to perform a striptease for you. She thought you were on the balcony. Well, imagine her surprise when she ended up seeing me. She left her panties as a departing gift and asked you to call her.” Mandy replied.

“Why are you acting like a jealous girlfriend?” I asked, and instantly regretted it. I felt the sting of a slap on my right cheek.

Mandy stared at me, anger blazing in her eyes.

“Fuck you!” She cursed. She pushed me out of her office as tears streamed down her face.

“I didn’t mean it like that. Honestly, I’m sorry.” I apologized before she slammed the door in my face.

“I hate you, Roger Day!” She screamed through the door.

“Well, that went well.” I heard Bella say sarcastically. “You’ve just got thrown out of your office.” Bella giggled. “You’re so lucky no one saw you.”

“Not now, Bella.” I snapped at her before heading to my office. Bella followed closely behind and rolled her eyes. “You’ll never learn if you keep pushing everyone away, Roger.” She said.

“Bella, enough. I need to make a call.” I snapped.

“Fine!” she replied. “I’ll be here waiting for you to finish.”

I found Jessica’s number on my phone and called her. She picked up before the second ring. “Hi, lover boy,” she drawled over the phone.

If she was trying to sound sexy, she made a huge mistake. The sound was like a dying frog.

“Why were you at my house?” I asked forcefully to keep my anger from rearing its ugly voice.

“Oh, your lady friend told you of my visit? I’m surprised. Her face had a look of horror when she saw me. I thought she wouldn’t tell you. Anyway, I’d planned to pay another visit tonight,” she giggled.

I suddenly remembered that the security guard was trying to contact me. It had to be regarding Jessica’s unannounced visit.

“How dare you step into my house after all your lies?” I stated, enraged.

“Don’t take it personally, Roger. I missed you. I needed a night of great sex.”

“You’ll be immediately escorted out the next time you attempt to enter my house. I bet the tabloids would have a field day. Oh, and how will you explain that to Jamie?” I threatened.

There was a slight pause at the end of the line before she gasped. “You’ve fallen in love with the girl I saw yesterday? That’s outrageous! She’s not even your type.”

“Jessica. I’m finished with you. I never want to see you again!” I snapped before hanging up. I was ignoring my heart racing at the question she’d asked.

“At least now we know why she’s upset with you,” Bella said when I hung up the call.

I always ran a hand through my hair in stressful situations. I felt the urge to toss my phone across my desk. Somehow, I kept my cool. I took several deep breaths and tried to calm myself.

“I’ll help you, Roger. But it would be best to let me know what you want,” Bella said.
