“What are you two doing here?” she asked.

“We are your chaperones for this evening!” Boden declared.

“Really?” Evie sighed. “I was hoping that was the case, but how did you finagle this with the producers?”

“Our brother here is famous!” Ryker announced as he patted Boden’s shoulder. “Fame has its bonuses.”

Evie looked at Boden. “How did you get away? Don’t you have to be with your team?

“I will always be there for family,” Boden replied as he gave Evie a hug.

“And what about you?” Evie turned to ask Ryker. “You can’t be filmed.”

“The producers agreed to alter my faceandvoice before they air any recordings.”

Evie hugged Ryker and sighed. “You have no idea what this means to me. The two of you being here has made my heart lighter!”

“Good. Now can we have an Evie sandwich?” Boden teased.

“I need to reapply my make-up,” Evie started, but her voice was muted as her two brothers proceeded to give her an Evie Sandwich.

This time she didn’t sob.

Instead, she laughed.

“What happened to your hair?” Ryker asked after they finished with their Evie sandwich.

“That’s a long story. Just call Mom and Dad. They’ll tell you.”

“All right,” Ryker agreed. “But in truth, how are you holding up?”

“I can’t believe I’m even in this situation. I was so sure Matt would send me home within the first couple of days, but as the days continued and he did so many sweet things for me… and our conversations… and his desire to make sure I was taken care of… my feelings changed.

“What I don’t like,” Evie continued. “Is the publicity of the entire thing. Our relationship is being plastered all over the media and will continue to be so after the show is finished filming. We have to wait three long months before the last show airs.”

“This definitely is not something you had pinned up on your vision board!” Boden laughed.

“And then,” Evie continued as she flailed her arms in the air,” to top it off… I’ve had to do things against what I feel is right.”

“Like what?” Ryker asked, concerned.

“Nothing dire, but things like this…” she motioned to the room behind the door. “I would never be alone in a hotel room with someone who wasn’t family or my husband.”

“We know that, Evie,” Boden reassured.

“But the world doesn’t know that. There just seems to be so much grey in a world that I thought was black and white.”

“That is exactly it!” Ryker declared. “We don’t live in a black-and-white world. We have commandments that we choose to keep because we love our Savior and have faith in His promises. We know we will be happier if we choose to obey them. But the grey areas of our lives… that’s where we need the Holy Ghost… to help us navigate those grey areas in our lives.”

“My grey areas are different than Ryker’s, or yours,” Boden added. “Which can make it hard for us not to judge others if they choose to do something different from what we are doing. That’s why it’s vital we keep the spirit with us so Christ can guide us through our daily choices.”

“That sounds so much like the new For the Strength of Youth,” Evie commented.

Ryker nodded in agreement. “And that’s why we need to heed our prophet’s counsel and pray for the Spirit’s guidance daily.”

“Now go get your make-up on, as if you need it!” Boden teased. “We’ll wait patiently in front of your door until your guy arrives.”

As soon as Ryker and Boden safely escorted Evie in the hotel suite, Ryker closed the door and waited to meet Matt.
