“Would you have come if Lake didn’t insist you watch the live airing of the show?” Ryker asked Boden.

“Never!” insisted Boden. “I still can’t believe Evie got herself mixed up in this.”

“I can,” Ryker disagreed. “She can be impulsive at times and not think things through.”

“What was your reaction to this Matt guy the first time he saw Evie?” Boden asked.

“The guy isn’t very good at masking his emotions,” Ryker laughed. “He would have never made it through the SEAL’s training.”

“Most people don’t make it through that torture,” Boden spouted.

“Most people don’t make it through being pummeled to the ground on a weekly basis,” Ryker snapped. “Is that a bruise I see?” he teased, pushing his thumb into Boden’s arm.

“I’ll give you a bruise,” Boden added as he pushed his brother away.

The door opened and Evie stood staring at the two of them. “Please don’t start wrestling each other.”

“What makes you think we’ll start wrestling,” Boden asked laughing.

“Because you’re hurling threats at each other.”

“You could hear us? These doors must be super thin!” Ryker replied as he examined the door.

“Because you’re both yelling! I can hear everything you’re saying!”

The two brothers looked remorseful and promised to behave themselves as Ryker grabbed the doorknob and closed the door.

“Remember, they are recording!” Evie yelled right as Ryker heard the door click closed.

“Going back to Matt and his reaction,” Boden continued after Ryker took his place in front of the door. “He reminds me a little of Dad.”

“Agreed!” Ryker said. “It’s the same way Dad looks at Kimi.”

“It’s a good thing we aren’t as readable,” Boden commented.

“It’s our training. We’re made of sterner stuff.”

“Matt is on the elevator, heading up,” a crew member announced.

“Should we make him sweat?” Ryker asked mischievously.

“Isn’t that why we’re here?” Boden bragged.

The moment the ding of the elevator was heard, Boden and Ryker immediately took a defensive stance in front of Evie’s door. Their feet were planted solidly on the plush carpet as they folded their massive arms across their chests. They planted stern looks of intimidation across their faces and stared straight ahead.

“What?”

Boden and Ryker heard Matt's question and then they thought they heard a slight chuckle.

He seemed to be made of braver material than that wimpy Keith, whom neither one of them liked.

Matt stood in front of the two brothers and nodded his head slightly.

“You are Boden,” Matt said staring at Boden. “Which makes you Ryker,” Matt stated.

“Observant,” Boden stated.

“But even someone who is observant can be an imbecile, so let’s see what else he has to offer,” Ryker insisted.
