“Wait!” Evie interrupted. “No discussion of religion? What in the world? Wouldn’t that be something that would be consideredimportantto discuss with someone you were trying to have a relationship with?”

“The producers decided that religion should not have an integral part of this show, so anything that has to do with religion will not be discussed while recording.”

“My whole life is my religion. I don’t swear, drink, wear provocative clothes, or get tattoos. I went to BYU for heaven's sake. All of that screams ‘Mormon’ and I’m not going to apologize for any of that!”

Evie was frustrated. The sooner this Matt guy saw she wouldn’t be a good fit for him, the better it would be for her as she wouldnotget an invitation. Then she wouldn’t have to worry about the contract or the $100,000 fine. This was her new goal. She would get asked to leave.

Evie stood up and grabbed the copy of the Rules of Engagement. “Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate your kindness and respect. I will follow through with this contract and rejoice the moment I get asked to leave.” She shook their hands and headed to the door but paused as she turned around. “Please let me know whenmy lawyerarrives.”

The two men smiled at Evie and assured her she would be contacted.

Chapter 8

Matt had enjoyed both his breakfast and lunch dates and really enjoyed having a one-on-one with Aaliyah during breakfast where they walked in the garden, sat on a bench, and talked about hopes and dreams. His one-on-one with Callie during lunch was exactly what he had expected. They laughed, teased, and hugged as they walked barefoot on the beach. He really liked that she was secure about who she was and was ready to find someone to share her life with.

He didn't connect with a few of the women and was beginning to feel weighted down with deciding who he needed to send home that evening. After his lunch dates were dropped off at the mansion, he went back to his RV to lie down and regroup. He filled out his invitations for breakfast the next morning and then rested his eyes.

He wasn’t sure how long he had slept, but a light tap on his RV door woke him.

“Coming!”

Matt got up, unlocked the door, and opened it. “Michele!” he greeted with a smile.

Michele was his make-up/stylist who looked and acted a lot like his Aunt Molly with a Scottish accent. He eagerly let her in.

“What’s next on my agenda?”

“You are free to socialize in the mansion until 5:00 when you need to come back here so I can get you ready for your dinner dates at 6:00.”

“Were you watching when the women received their invitations?” Matt inquired.

“I was in the recording room, and yes… I watched.”

“What were their reactions?”

“Any particular lassie in mind?” Michele prodded.

Matt pinched his lips closed and shook his head once. “Not revealing anything… just yet,” he winked.

“Well… they were all pleased to be invited, including a particular barefoot, jean-clad lassie from this morning!” Michele winked back. “Who is currently in the pool trying to see which dive into the pool makes the biggest splash.”
