“Really?” Matt paused. “All right. So, where did this picture go?” Matt asked looking at an empty space between the frames, “Did it break or something?”
“Cody, who you met, is recently divorced so I’m guessing my mom took it down.”
“Oh, unfortunately, divorce is more frequent than we like. Does he have any kids?”
“No. The girl he married had three from a previous marriage, but they weren’t married long enough for Cody to form a strong attachment to them. Their dad had custody… which should have been a red flag.”
“Eyes wide open while dating and half closed when married? Isn’t that how the phrase goes?”
“Something like that,” Evie agreed.
“Carry on! What does Cody do for a living?”
“He is also a veterinarian and he’s the only one who has an interest in following in our dad’s footsteps. He currently lives in the guest house and he is now part-owner of this ranch.”
“That is ambitious.”
“Next in birth is Lake. He’s not married…” Evie paused.
“I get the sense from meeting him that…” Matt hesitated to complete the sentence.
“Your senses are right… but he hasn’t told my parents yet, that is definitely hush-hush until he says anything. He’s a lawyer in Southern California.”
Matt zipped his lips shut.
“Next is Ryker…”
“Isn’t that your sister, Saylor?” Matt interrupted.
“Yes, my full-blooded sister and Ryker is my stepbrother.
“And they got married?”
Evie glared at him.
Matt put his hands up and said, “I’m not judging! Just clarifying.”
Evie saw his sincerity and continued, “They have two kids. They both live in Utah and work for an organization that rescues kids who have been sold into human trafficking.”
“Next is Bo…”
“Hold up!” Matt interrupted. “Isn’t that…”
Evie nodded her head.
“Holy cow. He just got drafted.”
“I know.”
“He plays football.”
“I know… and that’s his wife, Krista. And obviously, they live in Las Vegas.”
Matt turned to face the cameras. “You will definitely need their permission before you airanyof this information!”
Evie laughed, “Next is me, and then Wyatt.”
“Wyatt appears to be taking a different path than the rest of his siblings.”
