He kissed me with the intensity that I was used to getting from Lucien. He kissed me like he was making a promise that I didn’t know if he would be able to keep.

“I’ll do better, Kitten. I have to because life without you, going back to the darkness I existed in before…I can’t. You are my moon, my stars and most of all, you are my sun. I have felt your warmth on my skin. You’ve recharged my soul, and given me brighter days.” He kissed my tear-stained cheeks. “I won’t?—”

His voice cracked.

I threw my arms around his neck, kissing Aeon with everything in me. These guys were eloquent with their confession of love, making me feel inadequate with my pathetic ‘I love yous’. I pulled away, pressing my forehead against his.

“I can’t make any promises, but I would sell my soul to the goddess just to spend the rest of my life with you, Lucien and…”

“Zev?” He raised his brow at me.

There was no sense in lying.

“That bastard has wormed his way into my heart. He’s a stray dog with one flopping ear that I can’t say no to,” I smirked. “I’ve even given him a name. Sir Fluffington.”

“Don’t let him hear you say he’s a stray,” he laughed. “Except when I’m around, because I want to see his reaction.”

His laugh was wonderful. My stoic Aeon needed to laugh more.

“I love you Aeon, in this life, the next life and eternity,” I said, rubbing my nose along his.

“You can’t get rid of me that easily, I love you, today, tomorrow and in the afterlife.”

He rolled over, taking me with him, positioning me into laying on his chest. The sound of his strong heartbeat gave me the confidence to believe I was safe and he, or should I say they, would do anything to keep me safe.

“How the hell did you change before I did?” Lucien grumbled walking into the room, looking sweaty and out of breath.

“I had a good reason to.” Aeon kissed my forehead as the bed dipped with Lucien laying on Aeon’s other side. He laid his head on Aeon’s chest, grabbing my hand.

“How are you feeling, Kit Kat?” He kissed my hand. “Mr. Potter said you had a nightmare.”

“I’m ok. Clodius has that effect on people,” I said, shivering. “He’s Caston’s best friend.”

“What a pussy,” Lucien said. I couldn’t help the laugh that escaped. Hearing them curse was still my favorite thing, even more when they had no idea what they were saying.

“Good job Lucien, what a way to use that word. Gold star for you.” I leaned over to kiss him.

“What the hell is a gold star?” Aeon looked confused.

“Something teachers use for their students to show they are doing well and if they do well enough, they can earn rewards.”

They both looked at me confused; I loved teaching them new things.

“The new world is confusing.” Lucien snuggled against Aeon. “Though please tell me more about what kind of rewards are involved.”

He smirked at me, and I knew he was thinking all sorts of dirty things.

“Get your mind out of the gutter, Lucien. The world is amazing and there is so much I would love to show you, but it might be something we tackle slowly. Some of the world is very populated, but we could stay in the mountains and live in a small town. Mountain View is gorgeous, you might fit in well enough, all you’re missing is some nice flannel shirts. Do you guys know how to work in construction?”

“I think I might prefer the small town or maybe close to a pack of wolves. I miss running with a pack, but I don’t know how well they would receive us.” Aeon kissed my forehead. “I’d be open to learning construction.”

“I don’t know either. I was always told witch-shifters were stuff of legends, that they died a long time ago.” I ran my finger down the ridge of Aeon’s abs.

“Our pack was big, I couldn’t fathom us dying out. It wasn’t just our pack that were witch-shifters. There were at least ten here in America,” Aeon said, looking pensive.

“Were we hunted?”

Zev’s voice came from the doorway, making all of us look at him. He looked just like Aeon and Lucien, panting and covered in sweat, looking worn out.
