“It was risky, Kitten,” Aeon chimed in.

“I know it was, but if I hadn’t come back, you would all be dead. And then what?” I took a deep breath. “Raise this child on my own on the run because we all know he wasn’t just going to let me run away. We would have always been in danger, especially after he found out that I had a child with you.”

“He’s just mad that you saved us, Kit Kat.” Lucien kissed my cheek.

“Seriously, Lucien? That isn’t?—”

“She saved us, Zev, whether you like it or not we are alive because of her,” Lucien snapped at Zev. “Haven’t you been the one who has always told her we coddle her too much?”

“Yes, but it's not just her anymore.” Zev glared at Lucien.

Aeon growled, catching the attention of Zev and Lucien.

“Can we not do this right now, we survived, and that should be enough for now,” Aeon snapped at them.

It was just in time too, Sasha walked into the room stopping abruptly when she noticed all of us. A look of fear passed her features for a moment before she composed herself and walked towards me.

The guys created a wall in front of me, stopping her from reaching me. I was two seconds away from kicking someone’s ass, if they didn’t stop this.

“You hurt her —”

“In any fucking way?—”

“We will make sure?—”

“Oh, for Goddess’ sakes can she check me out so I can go shower, eat and sleep?” I yelled at them. “I swear if I don’t get all of those in the next half hour I will lose my fucking shit.”

“I think the mama has spoken, so let's make sure her and the baby are ok, and we can get her what she needs.” Sasha’s voice was light, but I heard the faint chuckle she tried to hide.

A moment passed where no one moved until Lucien pulled both guys back. Sasha came into view with a small smile as she talked me through taking my blood pressure, my pulse and searching for any injuries.

“He shocked me with electricity,” I said quietly, biting my lip to hold it together.

“Ok, well let's take a look, shall we?” She gave me a sympathetic smile, walking away to drag a machine close to us. “I’m going to need you guys to stand over there. If you huddle close enough you all should be able to see just fine.”

“See what?” Lucien looked confused as the guys shuffled around the bed to stand by me.

“Yeah, we can see if we can hear a heartbeat and see how the baby is growing,” she said, pushing me back. “How far along do you think you are?”

“Seven weeks?” I said, not looking at the guys, still feeling a little guilty.

“Ok let's try to do a sonogram and if we can't see the baby, we might have to do transvaginal,” she said, lifting my shirt, pushing my leggings down with a paper top.

“Should we be worried?” I heard Aeon whisper.

She squirted gel onto my stomach getting the device that went on my belly. I watched in fascination as apprehension soured my stomach. We might no longer be parents anymore.

She set the control on my stomach, moving it around until she stayed still. I closed my eyes thinking I couldn’t possibly watch. I was on the brink of a panic attack when I heard a whooshing sound.

“Is that the?—”

“Yup, that’s the heartbeat,” Sasha said, as we all looked at the screen and at the small thing that kind of resembled a baby.

“How?” Aeon leaned over to get closer to the screen. “Is she fine?”

A hand grabbed my own, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen.

“The baby looks to be fine, the heartbeat is right on track, but I think we will need to monitor you closely.” She tapped some controls on the machine as we all looked at the screen in fascination. “You are nine weeks and two days.” She ran the wand over my stomach again touching the machine as she did whatever she needed.
