“Those are sinks,” I said, walking to one of them to turn it on.

“This is nice,” Zev said, looking around.

“Come on we all won’t fit, but I think this is a good start to ease you into the world’s comforts.” I grabbed Lucien’s hand walking into the shower hoping it was warm and it was fucking perfect.

I groaned at the warm water, and I knew immediately it was a mistake.

“Groan like that again, but I’ll make sure it's because of me,” Lucien whispered in my ear.

I shivered, turning around to look at this beautiful man when the door to the shower opened. Zev and Aeon walked in and even though it was a tight fit, I didn’t care. I was exactly where I wanted to be.

“This feels amazing,” Aeon said under the spray of water.

“I love a bath, but I've missed showers,” I said, getting under the water with him.

We washed each other, each caress felt like a gift, each kiss a promise and each look cemented that we were finally free. We broke the curse and this was our beginning.

After we ate, we slept for almost twelve hours. I didn’t want to get out of bed, but my father had other plans for me. Gerard served us breakfast, almost dying from the angry looks the guys were giving him.

“Gerard, I think we need to visit Caston before we see my father,” I said, piling food onto my plate.

“Yes, ma’am, I’ll be back in twenty minutes?”

“Perfect,” I said, putting a piece of waffle in my mouth.

We ate in silence as I felt the room charged with opinions.

“He can’t just order a meeting with you,” Zev sneered as I got ready, realizing a lot of my old clothes were fitting me tight.

“He is the leader of our coven, I can’t just?—”

“You can, you’re not the magic-less witch under his control anymore,” Aeon said, leaning against the doorframe. “You've changed a lot in the last year.”

“We should all go.” Lucien laid on the bed.

I didn’t say anything for a moment, realizing I was already falling back into my meek personality that I was used to having here at the house.

“I don’t know how to be a strong woman outside those walls of the castle. I…” I pulled up my legging not being able to lookat them. “Here, I was the dutiful daughter, the wife that didn’t complain, and the sibling that helped when needed.”

I slipped on a loose shirt, hating that I was feeling so insecure about myself when back at the castle I didn’t care. Aeon was right, I wasn’t the same woman he left at the castle a year ago. I had magic and mates.

“You are definitely not that woman anymore. You're strong, fierce and don’t take shit from anyone.” Zev stood in front of me tilting my chin up. “You are a queen and bow to no one.”

“I can’t help but fall into old habits,” I said, looking at those piercing yellow eyes. “But you’re right, I’m not the same woman. So put on some pants and let's visit Caston and then go talk to my father.”

They quickly got ready, and Gerard led us down to the basement. I had only been down here once, not liking the feeling it gave me. It was all the spells embedded in the walls to keep our prisoners here.

We walked up to the cell Caston was in, seeing him curled on the floor.

“Shall I open it?” Gerard asked, but I shook my head no.

“Come back for more already, whore?”

A vine grew out of the wall wrapping around Caston’s neck, choking him.
