“Clodius got out,” I said, as she helped me up.

“Shit! Where is he?” Serena looked panicked.

“Mr. Potter, try and see if you can keep the men from getting in and if you can capture one,” Aeon said walking to us, looking pale.

“Where’s Katarina?” She looked panicked.

“In the library,” I said, walking that way, but still feeling sluggish.

“You should have killed him,” Serena snapped as we got to the hallway.

“No!”

Zev’s faint yell had all of us running to the library.

I ran into the library to see Katarina in front of Clodius with Zev on his knees and a knife to his throat. I stopped quietly, hoping everyone else would get the hint.

“Clodius, it’s me you want, take me instead,” Katarina said, with both hands on fire.

“Let me leave,” Clodius snarled, pulling Zev’s hair back, digging the knife into his neck.

“This will give you five minutes of invisibility. Use it wisely,” Serena whispered, putting something in my hand as she whispered something in Latin.

“Let him go,” Katarina countered.

Magic danced along my skin as I walked slowly to get behind Clodius. Aeon and Serena disappeared too, leaving me to wonder if they were following me or going to Katarina’s side.

“So, you can kill me? I’m not stupid, Kitty.” He slowly backed up, but I don’t think he realized he was only trapping himself. “I’ll take him to the property line and once I cross, he’ll be let go.”

“No, leave him,” Katarina snarled. “Leave him and I’ll let you walk out of here.”

Clodius laughed, “The others will be here soon. I know I’m outnumbered, but no thanks.”

He continued to walk back right into me.

“Though now that I think about it, I could take Wolfy here, and I'm sure Caston would love to play with him since he ruined his wife.” Clodius kept talking, not really seeing where he was going.

I’m right behind you.

I let Zev and the others know where I was since I didn’t know how much time I had left.

“I’ll be sure to tell him I fucked her good enough that she forgot his name and screamed mine over and over again,” Zev laughed.

“Tell him yourself and I can’t wait for him…”

Zev threw his head back, the cracking sound of a nose being broken was music to my ears. I lit my hands on fire, grabbing Clodius, hoping that Zev had blocked the knife when it went flying. I turned up the heat on my fire, afraid I was going to burn Zev, but he pulled away before I could burn him.

Clodius grunted when I felt his electricity tingle against my skin. My fire was giving me enough protection, but I could feel our magic at war with each other. He pushed hard and so did I. The zap of his magic was getting stronger, while I fought to make mine just as strong.

“I hope you rot in the underworld,” I snarled, pushing against him even more.

The second I felt a stab against my side, the pain broke my concentration and with it Clodius’ magic overwhelmed me. I cried out, hearing an array of loud noises popping every time a sting sliced through my arm before he let me go. I fell on the ground pushing my pain aside to reach for him.

“Get both of them!” Clodius’ yelled, walking out of my reach.

“Stay the fuck away from them,” I snarled, shifting into my wolf, launching myself at Clodius before he could turn around. Zev shifted too and we each grabbed an arm pulling until we heard bone snap and then a loud “No!
