“What do you mean… baby?” Aeon snarled.

He looked between both of us, conflicted, but there was no going back.

“She’s pregnant,” he stated.

We all stared at each other in silence. Zev looked guilty, but I had a choice to make, and I let the last few drops of it fall into her mouth. I prayed to the Goddess I hadn’t just fucked up.

He said he loved me and kissed me. It wasn’t rough or demanding like I thought it would be, but his lips were soft and reassuring. My body shuddered, the need to cry was overwhelming. It seemed tragic we would find our love before I died, like we were some Greek tragedy. Goddess, I hope we didn’t end up like Romeo and Juliet or should I say Romeos? I cupped his cheek before I felt a pull, like I was extremely tired. Then I felt the Goddess, thinking that this was it and I closed my eyes.

I was watching a woman gather items from shelves and throw them into a bag. Anger radiated off her so that the air around her was charged with energy. She was mumbling something so softly I couldn’t make out the words. That’s when I saw her tear-stained face looking so much like one of my sisters. She actually looked like all of us. Even with my violet eyes, my sisters and I had a familiarity, we looked like family even when I felt like I wasn’t.

Vivienne.

She put one more thing in her bag when she had to hold on to a shelf and cry. It was silent, but now the air tasted salty likea storm over a beach. She held a hand over her stomach as she continued to cry, slowly falling to her knees.

“I’m so sorry little one,” she hiccuped. “I don’t know what to do, but they deserve to pay for killing him. They killed your father, they deceived me like I was a child.” She wiped her face. “I’m no longer the innocent girl they think I am. They will suffer for scorning me.”

Her expression was fierce, as she got to her feet with a new sense of determination in her eyes. She finished putting things into the bag when I saw her grimoire disappear into the bag too. She looked around the room one more time before she opened the door quietly, looking around before she headed down a hallway.

Was this the night she cursed the guys?

Vivienne was quiet as she went down the hall and I think it’s because she didn’t want to get caught. I took in the opulent decorations, making me think Beltane was soon or had just passed. I realized this was my home and how I never put two and two together. This had to be the night she cursed them.

She entered a bedroom, which I assumed was hers, to grab more items and her other grimoire. She grabbed a black cape-like thing before securing it around her shoulders and pulling up her hood. Vivienne looked like a dark little Red Riding Hood, grabbing her bag and a basket with her, leaving the room.

Standing still, she closed her eyes like she was listening, then she started to walk. Going down another hallway, I heard the sound of people talking, the clinking of dishes as we passed by what I assumed was the kitchen. She abruptly stopped, looking over her shoulder before she went outside.

The night was beautiful as she walked towards the forest as the sun set. I had no idea what I was watching, but I wasn’t able to touch anything, or able to move.

It had a feeling similar to the vision I had seen of that man and woman not too long ago. As we walked further into the woods, I couldn’t help but feel like we were being followed.

Surveying my surroundings, nothing seemed to move with us. I followed Vivienne until she stopped at a clearing. It was the same one we used back at the house, making me a little homesick. I sat on a nearby rock watching her set up the spell. I didn’t know how much time had gone by, but after each portion she set up, I could feel the circle energizing.

It had to have been hours by the time she was done, she was looking utterly exhausted. She sat down by a log as she leaned back inspecting the circle. She leaned forward before she got back up, rearranging a few items and adding a few things. Once she was satisfied, she said an incantation as the circle powered up.

Vivienne held her hand up at the moon before going back to her spot to sit down. She wrapped herself up before closing her eyes. I looked around again, still feeling like someone was watching us. It felt weird to watch Vivienne sleep, so I walked around for a moment wondering how far I could go.

This felt very different than anything I had seen or felt before. I contemplated if I somehow conjured this vision or what was going on. This all felt real, but I couldn’t touch anything. Turning around before I went too far, movement caught my eye. Walking closer, I saw people walking towards each other.

“I told you she would take the bait.” A voice came from a man who had a hood over his head.

“You did your job well, are you sure she will do the right spell?” An older man with dark hair stood before him.

“I’m positive, we worked on it enough. I'm sure this is what she will do.” He sounded confident.

“Once she completes the spell, we can put a claim on the Belladonna line and the coven will be ours.” The man without the hood said. “You did good, son.”

“Thank you, Father.” He pulled his hood back.

My heart stopped.

“You will be a fine leader, Thane,” he said, looking at the younger man.

Blood was rushing in my ears. I couldn’t believe my eyes and for a split second I second-guessed this vision or whatever this was. They continued talking, but I couldn’t listen anymore. I stumbled my way back to Vivienne.
