“Okay.” He nodded. “We’ll try that.”

Like it was his decision, and not totally hers. I waspretty sure we were all holding back eye rolls. But then I imagined the two of them on a date, and a flood of nerves hit me.

I was just going to have to trust him not to fuck this up for all of us.

TRACY

One month. That was how long I’d lasted without sex. Well, without knots.

My alphas were patient, but we’d fooled around.

The more I got to know them, the harder it was to put it off. I knew that once I took a knot, I’d beg for a bite. Sex meant forever.

I’d already come close with Michael. Probably because he wasn’t working, so I was spending a lot of time with him. Plus, he was the most relaxed about the whole thing.

No one was pressuring me, but I could sense that they were all more than ready to make it official. Tonight, I finally felt likeIwas ready, too.

It was Friday, and Griffin was picking me up at my house. I packed a small bag, enough for a weekend at their place. Maddie watched me gettingready in silence, then I joined her at our little dining table. We needed to talk.

“I’ve never seen you so happy,” she said.

There was sadness in her voice, even though she was smiling. It hit me hard. She’d been my best friend during some rough times, someone who never treated me like I was anything special or different. I knew where I stood with her.

“No matter what happens, I’ll always make time to hang out. I’m not quitting my job. I’m not going to disappear.”

I didn’t need to tell her I was probably moving out. She knew.

Maddie nodded and looked away, pursing her lips. “I know things change. I’ll meet someone too.” She faced me again. “But yeah, we need to stay in touch. You mean a lot to me.”

I smiled. “How are things with Pete?”

“Shit, I have no idea.” She shook her head, but she was grinning. “I think he almost asked me out today, but then he pretended he could hear his phone ringing and left in a hurry.”

“You should just ask him out yourself.”

“I might.” She sighed, her smile fading until her expression was serious. “You love them? They treat you well?”

“I do, and they do.” It was the first time I’d admitted it out loud. I loved my alphas.

Maddie must have seen it on my face.

“Damn. You are so far gone.”

“Yep.”

There was a knock on the door. Maddie was up and opening it before I could take a step.

Griffin stood there, looking hot as hell in a t-shirt and jeans. The days were consistently warm now. It was hard to imagine we’d been snowed in just a few weeks earlier.

Maddie planted herself in front of him and pointed at his chest.

“You’d better take good care of her. I know where you live.”

He didn’t bother trying to make light of it. Griffin took that shit seriously.

“I will always take care of her.” His deep voice rolled over me. It was a vow.
