“Make me.”

Rolling my eyes, I lift my foot to kick him, but Lars covers my mouth and drags me into the men’s room.

Inside he shoves me to the floor and locks the door.

My heart pounds, and worry clouds my vision. I’ve never had this happen to me. I have to scream now. I want to scream, but I can’t. It’s stuck in my throat. Plus, that will make me look weak to this animal.

I left my purse on my desk where I have mace in my safety kit.

“Now, honey. I’ve traveled a long way. Haven’t seen my wife in a week. I need release. Just bend over that counter and lift your skirt. Give Lars what I need, and your boyfriend will get what he needs.”

I can’t leave. He’s blocking the door. I can try to storm it, but then this guy might hurt me.

He’s nearly as tall as Ford, and I’ve already felt thepower in those hands.

Why didn’t I listen to Emery and just go home?

Not that I could have anticipated this.

“Please don’t do this.” I get to my feet and back away, ready to duck into a stall.

“I’ll do what I want, slut. You sell yourself for money.” He takes out his wallet and throws hundreds at me. “Now fucking bend over.”

Tears well up, because he’s right, I did sell myself. But I doubt he would care that I was forced.

Or that I did it to keep my dreams alive. To have a chance at something important to me.

That choice to auction myself filled my world with three men I... God, I love them.

Now this animal is going to ruin me.

Fuck it. I’m not ducking away. Or hiding.

I’m fighting.

Roaring, I yell and barrel toward him.

Lars’ eyes widen, but his arm catches me, and the air is knocked out of my lungs.

I grip his suit jacket and start kicking, screaming, “Let me go! Let me go!”

The bathroom door swings open, and Emery stands there, holding a key.

Diving for Lars, he yells, “Get the fuck off her!”

Lars is a giant who could have easily overpowered me with no consequences. He can probably hurt Emery physically, but he wisely pushes Emery aside and runs from the bathroom.

“Are you okay, did he touch you?” Emery holds my face.

“He tried.” I struggle to get more words out. “I fought back.”

“I’m so sorry.” Emery yanks me against his chest.

“It’s not your fault.”

“I brought him here. I let you walk with him alone. I should have known better.” Emery’s words cut off as he swallows. Hard. “You’re mine to protect. I failed you. I’m so sorry.” His lips drench my forehead and tears leak from his eyes. “I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again.”

“It happened so fast.” I dare to look past him. “Is he gone?”
