“Levi crashed. I’m bringing her this so she can sit by his head in case he starts stressing in his sleep again. I’ll be right back to get you and Thor settled, since I know you won’t leave her back here alone.”

“Thank fuck for that. I was hoping they wouldn’t make us leave her.”

“Nah, I explained it to the doctor, and he understood. Though it helps that he saw what she did for Reaper. Let me get this in there, help get her settled, and I’ll be out to get you sorted.”

“Thanks, man,” I say and go to slap his shoulder but then pull back. “Shit, I don’t know where you’re hurt from the wreck.”

He waves me off, but that makes me worried about how he’s feeling. A few moments later, Thor steps out of the room with Patch behind him. Thor rips off the paper clothing and I swear some of the nurses swooned.

Allison stalks over to them, raving mad, and I notice the charge nurse paying attention. I figured she’d be mad, but she almost seems amused?

“Get a fucking grip on yourselves. We are in a hospital to save lives and you ladies are over here swooning over two men that are engaged to the woman in there helping to save their friend. Get yourselves in order before I file a complaint!”

“Oh please, you must be getting in on with that one with how much he was always searching you out,” one of them says as she waves off Allison’s warning.

“No, I’m their friend and quite honestly, I’d rather they came to me than you two because at least I would pay attention to the patients rather than trying to get into her fiancée’s pants.”

“Please, you just think you’re all high and mighty because your dad’s a department head here,” the other nurse says as she rolls her eyes.

“I’ve had enough. Samantha, Courtney, come with me,” the charge nurse says as she walks past them. When neither move but instead stare at her in shock, she levels them with a glare that has my balls shriveling up.

“Luke, Allison, I know neither of you are technically on the clock, but if you could please make some phone calls to the backups? I think we may need them since the others are still tied up with your friend assisting the doctors. Once I’m back down here, I’ll relieve you both. Oh, and Luke?”

“Yes, ma’am?”

“Once you’re done making phone calls, sit your ass down, along with those other two men. I recognize them as two of our gunshot victims yesterday and heard that their woman and the three of you were in a nasty car accident. I’ll let you know if we need you to move, but you won’t be forced to leave. I know you talked to the doctor about all of them and I agree.”

“Thank you, ma’am.”

“Thank you,” Thor and I both call out to her. She waves us off before marching the two women down the hallway.

I try to not laugh, but when Patch and Allison both hold up their hands, I try harder to hold it in. When I hear the elevator ding and the doors shut, we all bust out laughing.

“Fuck, she’s a ball-buster, but at least she’s fair.”

“That she is, but I say good riddance to those two. They try to hook up with guys more than they try to help their patients,” Allison says as she shakes her head and heads over to her station. Her ass is barely in the seat before she stands back up and goes over to the row of wheelchairs. She leads two our way and Patch goes to take one from her. I laugh when she swerves away from him.

“Nope! These are for Thor and Dragon, but go get one for yourself cause that’s where your ass will be when you get done helping me call people.”

“I’m not a patient.”

“Just get one, will ya?” She pauses as she stares him down with a wicked smile as she wiggles her eyebrows at him. “Or do I need to resort to blackmail? After talking to Levi yesterday, I took some pictures from Mom’s photo albums, and I made sure they were embarrassing ones.”

The glare he sends her is pure evil, but she just laughs.

“Patch, get your ass a wheelchair,” Thor bites out.

Patch sighs but does as ordered.

By the time he’s over to us, Allison already has our wheelchairs unfolded, and the wheels locked. Patch leaves his by the wall and walks over to the station.

“Just remember Alli, you aren’t the only one with embarrassing pictures. So keep that in mind when you threaten to blackmail me.”

She grumbles and flips him off as she starts calling people.

Hooking Levi’s bag on the handle, I sit down, and damn near sigh when this feels so much more comfortable than the chairs in the ER rooms.

“Fuck, I told Phoenix I’d let him know any new news when I saw Patch bringing the wheelchair for Spitfire.”
