She sighs and wipes her eyes.
“Just furious beyond hell that he recorded something so intimate of me. Not to mention I’m embarrassed. I mean, I know he already had cameras that pointed to my bed due to the pictures we saw, so that means he saweverything, both external and internal. God, he probably jerked off to them, too. What if he decides to post them somewhere? I don’t want anyone other than you two to see me like that.”
I freeze at her statement. As the rage rises inside me, I have to fight down the urge to pummel something into oblivion.
She starts crying again, and her whole body shakes with each sob. We need to find Fang and the Black Plague fast. And when we find them, their torture will be long and painful. I have a feeling both Ry’s and my demons will be unleashed when we find him. There’s a reason why we have the road names we do.
After a few minutes, Levi’s tears subside as she falls asleep. We lay there for a few more minutes to make sure she was okay. Ry nods toward the door and we both carefully slip out of bed. I quickly write her a note that we’d be downstairs before following Ry out and quietly closing the door. I head straight to the kitchen and Ry hands me a beer as he takes a long pull from his.
“This is so fucked up. He is so fucking dead,” I mutter as I took a swig.
“Agreed. Beyond fucking pissed he violated her like that,” Ry growls as he leans against the counter, hands gripping the edge.
“Not now or tonight, but we need to talk to her about finding out what exactly is on the flash drive. If he has some sort of message on there, we need to know what it is.”
“You’re probably right, but fuck, I’m not sure how she’ll react to watching it or if she wants us to watch it. There’s no fucking way anyone else is watching her do that.”
“Damn fucking straight, no one else is gonna see that.”
He drains the last of his beer and slaps my shoulder.
“Come on, man, we can’t do anything until we get more intel on them. Let’s keep looking for bugs while she rests. Least we can do for her, to ease some of the weight on her shoulders.”
“Sure, but I’m gonna quickly check on her first. Meet ya out there in a few.”
I down the last of my beer and quietly make my way back upstairs. Levi is still cuddled up on the bed and thankfully, isn’t showing any signs of nightmares. I pick up a nearby blanket and gently lay it over her before giving her a kiss on her forehead.
“Nick,” she says softly as she snuggles deeper into the blanket.
My chest warms when I realize she can tell us apart, even when sleeping. Grabbing our boots, I quietly make my way back downstairs and out to the garage, knowing that I’m probably grinning like a fool.
“What are you so happy about?” Ry asks as he nudges my shoulder. I give him his boots and feel my grin growing wider.
“Just that when I covered her up with a blanket and gave her a kiss, she knew it was me. Don’t know how she can tell us apart when she’s sleeping, but apparently, she can.”
He grins as well and pats me on the back. After lacing up my boots, I set an alarm for an hour and get to work.
We both make pretty good progress through Levi’s belongings. Still, it seems like every box has something in it that has some sort of device in it, but we make sure to be thorough. We don’t want to miss anything and have any repeats of what’s most likely on the flash drive.
“Hey, sorry I passed out.”
Turning around, Levi’s standing in the door, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Her hair is still a little tousled, and she looks cute as shit.
Walking over to her, I pull her to me and gave her a kiss before Ry does the same.
“Don’t worry about it, Wildcat. It was a huge shock, so it’s completely understandable.”
Her cheeks tinge pink as she gives us a little half-smile, but I can tell that it’s still weighing heavily on her.
“Um, this morning you mentioned there’s a party tonight. What time does it start?”
Knowing she’s trying to change the subject, I nod. I don’t want to push her on this, especially right now.
“They usually start around 4 pm. We’re having it catered tonight, so food will start showing up between 4 and 5pm.”
At that, she freezes and looks at her watch. Seeing that it was already 3 pm she looks around at the boxes in a panic.
“Crap! I’ve got to find my bathroom stuff so I can get ready and then change!”
