“And what makes you so sure that she’s here, Agent Weber?”

He smirks, and I fight the urge to scowl at him.

“She’s routed her mail to be delivered to the bar. She never leaves without Dragon, though if it weren’t for your cut, I very well would have thought it could have been you she was leaving with. Very good food there, by the way.”

I grit my teeth. He’d been trailing her, and we hadn’t known. I can feel Dragon’s anger rolling off him. Glancing at him, he seems to be controlling it, but just barely. Same for my brothers. They’d all come to love Levi since she’s been here. And with their pledges earlier, I know they’d do anything to keep her from getting hurt again.

“What do you to talk to her about?”

“I’m sorry, but that’s between Miss Wallace and me.”

My jaw clenches, and I’m just about to tell him to fuck off when small hands loop around my arm. My head whips to her, and I scowl.

“I told you to stay inside,” I grit out. She smiles apologetically and looks over her shoulder.

“I know. I asked Smoke to let me listen in, and I decided to come out here to see what he wanted. I won’t be having any of you getting hurt or taken in because of someone losing their head. If all he wants to do is talk, then we can talk. Besides, with what’s been going on, I’d rather we all talk in the clubhouse than have you both out here with half of our family. It’d be like shooting fish in a barrel.”

I glare at Smoke standing behind her, but he returns my glare as he steps closer to Levi. I’ll be having a chat with him later. I’m about to snap back at her, but her scared, doe-eyed look makes me pause. She steps closer to me, and her eyes mist over.

“I heard Uncle Bear talking with Dad. This could be related to Uncle Sean and what he did to me years ago.”

I freeze, knowing that we hadn’t talked about that in Church earlier. I’d purposely skipped over that so Roy could talk to her about it. She gives me a tight smile.

“Mom told me what happened a few months before she died. She wanted me to know the truth.”

I nod and she gives me a small smile as she turns to head back inside, with Smoke right behind her. I look back at Creed and give a chin lift.

“All right, let him in. But if you even think of pulling anything on us, you’ll be full of lead before you know it.”

“Don’t forget blades! If he pisses me off, he’ll be so full of steel he’ll regret stepping foot in our home!” Levi calls over her shoulder as she flips a blade in the air and continues walking back toward the clubhouse. My brothers chuckle and there’s no way I can stop mine, even though I’m pissed at her for this little stunt.

Dragon and I grin as we look at each other and then at Creed. His gaze darts from Levi’s retreating figure to Dragon and then to me, no doubt having seen the back of her cut. He pales slightly and clears his throat.

“Noted.”

He turns to get in his car and restarts it, pulling through when Bones opens the gate for him. Taking a look down either side of the road behind him, I don’t see anyone else, but they could be hiding. Dragon claps me on the shoulder and grins.

“Let’s get inside, bro. If Spitfire is going to fill him full of steel, I want to make sure I’m there to witness it in person.”

I laugh and turn to follow him.

Creed gets out of his car as we approach and jumps slightly when Dragon claps him on the shoulder, squeezing it. Phoenix steps up in front of him and holds out a hand for his weapon.

“I’m not armed. I left my gun in the console knowing that you wouldn’t let me in with it on me.” Phoenix gives him a chin lift but still pats him down.

“Let me show you to Church, Agent, and then you can tell us what you want to talk about with our Old Lady,” Dragon says as he squeezes his shoulder again. Creed swallows nervously but doesn’t put up a fight.

As we walk into the clubhouse, Roy, Bear, and the twins follow us into Church. I chuckle when I see Levi sitting on a table with her legs crossed and still flipping her knife in the air.

“Well, I can definitely say you have the intimidation factor down pat there, Miss Wallace. Especially since I know of your reputation,” Creed says as he takes a seat. I give him props for sitting down instead of remaining standing.

“I don’t know if you are aware, Miss Wallace, but your uncle, Sean Wallace, is due to get out of prison in two weeks. We have reason to suspect that he will come looking for you when he is released.”

“Then why let him out?” Bear asks, his voice laced with anger.

“Because he will have served his sentence, even if I don’t agree with him getting a few years shaved off his original sentence for good behavior. He can’t be arrested again unless he actually does something wrong. He’s angry and blames Miss Wallace for his imprisonment. I’ve come to offer you protection, but after meeting you, I probably already know your answer, even though I don’t agree with it.”

Levi smiles darkly at Creed and fuck if my dick doesn’t take notice.
