Her body crumples to the floor. Well, as much as her handcuffs will allow, that is.

Seeing that she’s not getting back up, I get up, stalking toward Sunshine and pulling her into my arms. After a few moments, I release her, taking her hands in mine, and looking them over.

Her knuckles are a little raw, and her thumb looks a little swollen. I wonder if it was injured during the first punch. Someone steps up next to me and sets something down on a table nearby.

“Let me see those hands, Lil’ Bit. I’m gonna clean the blood off before I take a closer look at them,” Doc says.

After a few moments, he examines both hands, and she hisses slightly when he bends her right wrist backward and moves her thumb. “Nothing’s broken, but you have slight strains, most likely from your first punch. Ice them and take some ibuprofen to help with the pain and swelling. You did good, Lil’ Bit.”

Doc places the ice pack on her hand and my chest tightens when I hear the hiss she tries to suppress. He hands me some packets of ibuprofen that I put in my pocket. I’ll give them to her later when I get her a drink.

Pulling my Sunshine back into my arms, I worry how she’s going to process everything after this. I don’t want her to have any regrets. Another worry is that if she learns what we’re going to have to do... will she look at me differently afterward? Fuck, I hope not. I can’t lose my Sunshine Goddess.

Sunshine’s body trembles in my arms slightly, but I’m not sure if it’s from anger, worry, or fear. Tilting up her chin so that she looks at me, her eyes swirl with emotions.

“Are you okay, Sunshine?”

Her face hardens, and she gives me a curt nod.

She turns, slipping out of my arms, and wraps Sasha in a hug.

The two of them whisper for a few moments. A dark grin forms on Sasha’s face as she nods at her and hugs Sunshine tighter.

Sunshine steps back into my arms and Sasha uncuffs Luscious from the bar, but she keeps the cuffs around her wrists in place. Gripping her hair, Sasha drags Luscious’ body behind her as she heads down to the cellar. Her metal heels echoing down the hallway send a foreboding chill through the air.

I know when they get to the stairs because Luscious’ screams start back up again. I smirk, knowing Sasha let her ass hit every single stair on the way down.

The guys all get up, following after Sasha.

Picking up Mae, I walk over to the couches, thankful that Mama Astrid and Erik have also moved to sit on the couch. Setting her down, I put the ice pack back on her hand.

“I’m gonna go get you something to drink so you can take these pills,” I say, fishing the packets out of my pocket and giving them to her.

Quickly, I cross the room, grabbing one of her flavored waters from the mini-fridge behind the bar and walk back over to her.

Kissing her forehead, I kneel down in front of her. “Stay in the clubhouse, Sunshine. We’ll be back up after... talking to her.”

Sunshine huffs, a smile tugging on her lips. “Baby, I know what’s gonna happen and I’m okay with it. However, I want you to promise me a few things.”

Hesitantly, I stare into her eyes. “I’ll do what I can, but it depends on what you want, Sunshine.”

She gives me a sad, small smile. “Find out why she smashed Frida’s gravestone. Why she said ‘she got what she deserved’. Who did she tell where I was and why? I know she’s furious that she lost her chance at you but find out if there’s something else behind her anger and hate toward me. I have a feeling that it’s more than just you and me being together.”

Relief courses through me. Those things I should be able to find out. In fact, they were among the questions we already wanted to ask her about.

Nodding, I lean forward, giving her a chaste kiss. “Hopefully we’ll get those answers from her as we want to know them, too. Again, stay inside. If you get tired, I bet Mama Astrid would be able to find a spare room for you to crash in.”

“She can crash in our room here, and I’ll stay with her, son,” Mama Astrid replies and I give her a chin lift.

“Be back when we’re done.” I kiss Sunshine one more time before standing and walking down the hallway to the cellar.

As I pass the bar, I notice that the Prospects are already wiping it down and the floor, making sure they get any blood splatters. Next, I’m sure they’ll scour the shelves behind the bar to make sure they don’t miss anything.

My boots echo off the tiles as I hurry down the stairs. I know they won’t start without me, but I also don’t want to miss anything that Sasha puts that bitch through.

Punching in the code, I enter, making sure the door shuts securely behind me.

In the center of the room, on a metal chair, sits Luscious. There are ropes tying her torso to the back of the chair. Her arms are bound to the arms of the chair and her legs have been bound as well. Her heels are missing, but I know that’s because if she got her legs free, they could be used as a weapon. There’s a plastic tarp underneath the chair she’s sitting on. Not to mention there are tarps hanging from the back wall, side walls, and ceiling near where she’s sitting.
