Timber squeezes my hip and I bite my inner cheek, hoping they won’t be mad. But then Thor pins me with a look and I think he’s getting frustrated with me. I wasn’t kidding when I thought it was irrelevant. Stupid me for not realizing I should have said it before, even if I didn’t think it mattered or was relevant.

“Is there anything else you can think of?” he asks.

I hesitate as I try to think back. “I don’t think so, but if I remember anything else or if something we learn triggers a memory, I’ll let you know right away.” Nibbling my lip, I look over at Dad. “Do you have cameras that work well out in the elements?”

“Yeah, I’ve got some and can make more if need be. Why?”

“I was curious about when we go to meet Martha and see the cabins this weekend if it’s possible to put cameras around them to monitor who goes in and out? And can keep a date and possibly time stamp on the feed? Once I get logged into the system that Martha uses, I wonder if we’ll be able to tie future renters to whatever name or alias they are using and get more information.

“Al mentioned that there is a history log tied in with the program but didn’t mention how far back the log goes. If they’re related to the Oasis, the men could be using an alias. Unless they live close enough or are well known enough that they have to use their own names. If X, Bruce, Phillip, or Preston show up there in the future, we can possibly find out any more aliases they have.”

He nods. “I’ll bring some and we can put them around once we have eyes on the cabins. Let me know if you need any help with that program.”

After a few minutes of talking about when Timber and the guys will head out, we all file out into the main room.

Turning to Timber, I lean up and kiss his cheek. “I’m going to try logging into that program to see if I can find any information out.”

“Stay out here in the main room or up in our room. Let me know if you want to go to the house.”

Nodding, I grab a water and find a table back in the corner where I should be out of the way. It bugs me a little that I have to tell Timber or Dad wherever I go, but I also know it isn’t forever. They’re still on edge from me being kidnapped last week.

“That’s interesting,” I mutter to myself as I scroll back through the document.

“What’s interesting?” Kai says as he plops down in the chair next to me. He and the other Junction Creek guys are heading back at the end of the week, and I’m going to miss seeing all of them.

“Huh? Oh. Well, the guests that are supposed to be there through this Wednesday are Krista and Grant Williams. The one staying through Friday is John Creighton. They frequently book the cabins together. Frequent as in almost every month, and it’s usually for a week at a time. They aren’t the only ones that have this same pattern either.

“If these people keep up this pattern, the next ones that would check in would be Elisa and Joseph Dean and Warren Crowley. Probably in the next two weeks if the cabins remain un-booked by anyone else. They tend to drop in their reservations one or two days in advance. Though Al did say he had asked Martha to make sure no one books the cabins after these guests leave so that we could come up and look at them.”

“Do you think this Martha person might know about them and tries to keep it open for them?”

I chew on my lip. “I don’t know. I need to call her to set up a time to meet her. Time will tell, I guess.”

“How about you call her now?”

I look around the room. There aren’t too many in here and those that are are either chilling at the bar or playing pool. Most people went back to work.

Nodding, I fish out my phone and I’m about to dial when Kai stops me.

“Wait a minute,” he says before he whistles. “Hey, Smoke, Timber, come here. The rest of you assholes quiet down. Mae’s gonna make a call and I want her to put it on speakerphone.”

I shake my head but smile.

Dad, Timber, Thor, and Levi all come over and sit down with me. I fill them all in on what I found out.

“When you talk to her, see if you can fish out any details for if someone has called but is now on the waiting list to book? Or if she has any guesses for when the next one might be per history?” Levi asks and I nod.

“Those were going to be my questions, too, along with setting up a time to come and see the cabins this weekend.”

Holding my phone, I dial the number Al gave me and put it on speaker. After a few rings, she picks up.

“Hello?”

“Hello. Is this Martha Wells? This is Mae Caldwell. My lawyer, Allen Worthe, gave me your number about my grandparents’ cabins.”

“Oh yes, hello dear. However, I was told your last name was Cole?”

“It was. I got married this past weekend.”
