“What’s wrong, Sunshine?”

Oh God, this man is going to be the death of me. Shaking my head slightly, I nibble my lip. “I just need a few moments. And I really do need to go to the bathroom.”

“Perfect timing. I’ve got to go, too, so I’ll walk with you,” Sasha says as she slips her arm through mine.

When did she get over here? I just saw her on the stage.

Nodding weakly, I catch her winking at Timber, and he finally releases my wrist. What was that wink for?

“Okay, come get me if there’s any trouble.”

“I’ll keep your woman safe, don’t worry, big guy.” With that, she pulls me toward the clubhouse and I numbly follow her.

Right before we head inside, I hear Thor declaring Levi the winner, and everyone cheers loudly. I wish I could join in, but I’m desperately trying to rein in my panic attack.

When we’re in the bathroom, she guides me to a stall and I close the door, leaning my head against the cool metal. Closing my eyes, I force myself to take a few deep breaths and then go about doing my business.

Opening the stall door, I find Sasha leaning her hip against the counter. I quickly wash my hands, dry them off, and lean against the counter as I watch her through the mirror.

“Were you the one that was in the stall earlier?”

She grimaces slightly and nods. “With how Smoke was acting, I wanted to keep an eye on you in case he did anything stupid.” She sighs, running a hand through her hair. “Granted, I haven’t known him that long, but in that time, I’ve never seen him pounding drinks this hard. Or acting like this, for that matter.” She shakes her head, looking down at the ground.

Nibbling my lip, I decide to ask what’s on the tip of my tongue. “Does Levi and Dragon know what he said? Timber?”

This time she full on grimaces. “I gave a very high overview to Levi. I figured two sets of eyes watching out for you is better than just me. While I was telling her, I heard Dragon spewing a bunch of shit at Timber and some of it was what Smoke had said. So yeah, I think Dragon heard him. I didn’t tell anyone what else Smoke said, even though I could tell it killed Timber not knowing. But if the roles were reversed, I’d prefer to be the one to tell Colt first rather than him learning about it secondhand.”

My shoulders slump.

So it’s true. He did hear it. Shaking my head, I sigh. “Great. Now he’ll probably vote against helping me, even though nothing Smoke said is true.”

“I know Smoke’s going to regret everything he said when he’s sober and looks at the camera feed tomorrow. I have a feeling Timber, not to mention Thor, will be chewing his ass out tomorrow as well. Then Levi and I will be chewing his ass out.”

The fierceness of her words has me turning and looking at her in surprise. “But you didn’t know what he was saying wasn’t true earlier. It’s his word against mine. Everyone’s known Smoke for a long time and I’m new. They’ll believe him over me.”

She tilts her head as she studies me. “I’ve always been a good judge of character and have been able to read people well. Levi too. My gut and my instincts are both saying I can trust you. That we can trust you. I have a feeling what Smoke was saying was his feelings that have been festering all these years. In his anger and hurt over your mom’s betrayal, I bet he thinks that you’ve grown up to be just like her since you’ve spent so much time around her. And he’s so drunk that he can’t see that that’s not true at all. In the short amount of time I’ve been around you, I know that you’d never intentionally manipulate anyone. Not after what Preston’s done to your mom. Hell, I bet you’ve never even had a drink, smoked, or did any drugs after what you saw.”

My cheeks heat, and she laughs.

“Nailed it!”

Laughing along with her, I nod. “Yeah, it’s true. I’ve never done any of that, and I’m not sure if I ever will. Drink alcohol, I mean.” Nibbling my lip, I fidget. “Will that be a problem here? That I don’t drink?”

Sasha immediately shakes her head. “Not at all. I’m sure you’ll get razzed by a couple of bunnies, though, if they notice it. Then again, they’ll find anything possible to razz you, including telling you a bunch of horseshit or bragging about being with Timber at some point.”

Sighing, I nod. I kind of guessed it’d be like that. “Timber already told me Crystal and Gigi would cause problems, but the others most likely wouldn’t. Though he did say he’d...,” I pause, licking my lips and decide to just put it out there. Sasha seems like someone I can trust and she just said she trusts me.

Taking a deep breath, I continue. “He said that he’d been with all of them except for Roxy, Crystal, and Gigi. I know he hasn’t been a saint, and I, well, I have been, but not intentionally. I’m also worried that he’ll get bored with me since I don’t have any experience.”

Blinking rapidly, I try to keep my tears at bay. Sasha pushes off the counter and walks over to me before wrapping me in a hug.

“I’ll let you in on a little secret.” She pauses and blushes when I step back and look up at her. “When I got together with Colt, I had never been with anyone before him. And since I know she won’t care that I tell you, same goes for Levi. I think us being virgins actually excites them more since they get to be the ones that expand our horizons, so to speak. What I’m trying to say is, don’t say no to being Timber’s woman because you’re scared. Yes, it can be dangerous from time to time. But these men truly do protect the innocent and that protectiveness increases when a guy claims a woman as his Old Lady.”

“Are you an Old Lady? Are there any others besides Levi?”

She blushes again. “She’s the only one so far. I think Colt was planning to ask me after he patches in, but then they voted to allow women in the club. After seeing how the club was, I wanted to help protect my family, so I put my name in to Prospect. If I do patch in, then I’d be like Levi and wear an actual cut with the full-on club logo on the back, even if I do become Colt’s Old Lady.”

Sasha pauses as she pulls out her phone and when she flips it around, it’s of Levi, but her cut is different than the one she’s currently wearing. On the cut in the picture, her road name is Enchantress and in the next photo, on the bottom, it says ‘Property of Thor & Dragon’.
