“I know the color of your eyes if that’s what you are trying to hide from me.” His soft, soothing voice whispered to me.

I kept silent, my eyes still closed.

“You really should not be saying that. Ella is going to hear you.”

“Let her hear me,” Mason whispered.

I opened my eyes then and looked at him, “Why do you want her to know so bad right now. I still don’t know what I am going to do. Can you just quit it please?”

“Sure, fine. But, the longer you wait…”

Just as Mason was about to finish his sentence, Ella came out behind us following with my things.

“Hey, Lucy, I am going to pop to the living room for a minute. I have to make a quick call. Are you okay for a minute,” she asked, “I will be right there.”

“She’s fine. Besides, you two seem to get in trouble when you are together, and Lucy, well, she needs some rest. And having a pillow fight isn’t exactly what I would call as rest.” Mason scowled after Ella.

She rolled her eyes, gave him the finger and walked into the living room, leaving Mason and I alone again.

“It was really not Ella’s fault.”

He focused his gaze on me. “You two seem like quite the pair.”

“Yeah.” I whispered, smiling, “She’s just like a sister to me.”

“And where does that leave us?” he asked, turning toward me as we walked down the hallway.

I kept quiet and turned my gaze from his. “We didn’t take this route earlier.”

“Yeah.” He nodded, “There’s a secret passage that connects the VIP suites directly to the clinic, just in case of emergencies.”

I chuckled and turned toward him. “You people have everything planned out, don’t you?”

“We like to keep our visitors’ needs at hand always.”

“VIP visitors,” I corrected, but he did not respond.

I turned toward him and frowned. “No response.”

“We really don’t have guests most times, just us around. You are actually the first person Ella ever brought home.”

“Oh,” I muttered, enjoying this little conversation we were having.

“Okay, now that I know we are alone, I still don’t understand why you left me that morning.” He asked as we reached close to a wall.

“I panicked. Your sister is like family to me, and I knew in that moment that I had betrayed her. It made me feel like a gold digger. Your family, especially your sister, have been so good to me, and doing that wasn’t a way I would wish to repay her.”

“It was already done. She’s an adult, and I am sure she would be fine with it.”

“You know it won’t be bad if you talk to her just like a normal person would without having to order it.”

“I have grown quite used to it.”

“Speak to her how you speak to me now. That’s all I ask,” I begged, gazing at him.

“I can’t make any promises,” Mason said. “So, I ask again, what happens now? With us? Am I supposed to pretend that we didn’t have sex, and that you aren’t carrying my baby?”

“Mason,” I said sleepily, “I am so tired. Can we please continue this conversation tomorrow?”
