Dane smiles as he watches Brittany get her team in a huddle, their faces serious as they discuss their answer.

Beckett calls time and goes around the room collecting answers. He stops at Brittany. "This could be for the win. What's your answer?"

"Fire," Iris shouts.

Beckett nods and moves on. "Team number eight, what do you have?"

"We said coffee," the woman with Crafty Crew says.

Beckett turns to Jerry. "Your win is riding on this question. What's your final answer?"

Jerry gives Brittany a beady-eyed glare. "Our answer is a stove."

Beckett flips the page on the easel. "Here are the top five answers. Fire is worth twenty-six points, coffee twenty-four, tea twenty-one, stove sixteen, and fireplace is worth thirteen."

Brittany jumps up from her chair, her fist in the air as the rest of her team whoops it up. She and Iris give each other a high-five. Brittany smugly returns Jerry's glare, and he quickly turns away.

After everyone settles down, Beckett walks over to Brittany's group and hands her a bottle of champagne. They're all smiles as she gives the bottle to Iris.

Dane mixes two more whiskey sours. Finished, he looks up to see Brittany walking toward him.

She stops and leans on the bar, giving Dane a seductive smile. "I'm going back to my cabin to shower. Text me when you're coming to my room, and I'll leave my door unlatched." She slides a scrap of paper toward him.

Dane picks it up and looks at it. "Your cell number?"

"Uh-huh."

He slips it into his pocket and quickly scans the seating areas near the bar.Damn! Asshole Jerry is watching them. That's just great.

"He's watching us, isn't he?" Brittany says without turning.

"He sure is. I swear the guy's obsessed with us." Dane sets the drinks on the counter and waits for Mitre to come and take them. As soon as Mitre is out of earshot, Dane says, "I'm not sure when I can get away, but I'll be there as soon as I can."

"That's okay. I'm not going anywhere." Brittany runs the tip of her tongue along her bottom lip.

"Stop that," Dane hisses. "You're already making me hard."

"Good. The harder, the better. I'll be waiting for you." She gives him a wicked smile and saunters away.

Dane takes a deep breath, trying to keep himself in check.

The little vixen is going to get what she wants and then some.

Chapter Fifteen

Dane

Dane checks the time on his watch. It's been an hour and a half since Brittany left for her cabin. He'd hoped to get away before now, but it wasn't until a few minutes ago that the last two groups from the Family Feud game left the lounge.

Distracted by his thoughts and eagerness to leave, he suddenly realizes someone is behind him. He turns to see Luis pick up a bottle of bourbon and set it back on one of the shelves.

"Luis. Thanks for covering for me earlier." Dane picks up a group of glasses Mitre left on the counter. He sets them in the sink and wipes his hands on a towel. "It would have gotten ugly if you hadn't stepped in, and I had to make the judgment call on Brittany's answer."

"No problem. That Jerry guy was about to jump out of his seat, so I figured I'd better do something. Man, that was close, though. You need to be careful. For some reason, that guy has it out for you and your lady, and he seems to be watching you like a hawk. So, now that you survived the drama, what's on your agenda for the rest of the evening?"

"Nothing."

Luis cocks an eyebrow. "Really?"
