She wiped her eyes, inhaling a deep, shaky breath as she pushed herself out of the chair. He hurried to her side, taking her arm to help her stand.

“Don’t touch me.” She shoved his hand away and got up on her own. “That’s over.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Sex. We’re done.”

“I agree.” He walked back to his desk.

“You do?” She gave him an odd look.

“Yes. We’re done having sex the way we have been. From here on out it’ll be like last night. It won’t just be sex. You’ll sleep with me and spend time with me.”

“Keep dreaming because that’s not going to happen.”

“You think you can restrain yourself?” He leaned back against his chair, smirking. “I know I can restrain you.”

“I’m not joking, Harker.”

“We’ll see how long you last.” He ignored the hollowness in her eyes. She was just mad. She’d get over it and be hot and horny again.

“It’ll last because I don’t want you anymore. Not at all. I’m no longer angry with you. I’m done. I was a fool but not a complete fool. I was right to doubt my feelings because you’ve never felt anything for me except possession. You wanted me to work on your program and you wanted someone smart to have your child. It didn’t have to be me. It could’ve been anyone.”

“What the fuck do you want from me, Alison.” His temper snapped. “I've given you time. Even though I wanted nothing more than to be with you, I’ve let you use me as your fuck-doll.”

“Don’t even try to pretend you didn’t want that.”

“I wanted sex but not just sex. I wanted to talk to you. To have dinner with you. To hold you but I pushed all my wants aside and do you know why?” He didn’t give her a chance to answer. “Because it was what you wanted. Because I was showing you how much I care for you.”

“Yes, forcing me to stay here against my will is so thoughtful and just to be clear. That is NOT what I want.”

“I’m not forcing you to do anything. You signed that contract.”

“And I'm begging you to get rid of it.”

“So you can leave me.” He shook his head. “I can't do it. I won't.” He may not have much of a chance with her anymore, but he’d take a slim chance over none and that’s what he’d have if he let her leave.

“And that proves that you never cared for me.”

“No. That proves that I do care for you. I care too fucking much. Letting people leave is not how you show them you care.”

“Bullying them into doing something they don't want to do isn't either.” She turned and walked away, stopping at the door and looking over her shoulder. “Please think about this, Harker. It’s the only chance we have of making this work.”

“That’s the biggest line of bullshit I’ve ever heard. If you want to leave me, you’ll have to wait until the contract is over.” He couldn’t do it. She was everything he’d ever wanted, and it was beyond his ability to allow her to walk away.

CHAPTER 31: Alison

Alison sat in the meeting, pretending to pay attention to what Tobias was saying but all she could think about was how freaking horny she was. It’d been over a week since she’d given Harker her ultimatum and every day the war between her mind and her body grew harder.

She stared at his hands. Lord, she’d missed those fingers—the way they entwined with hers, holding her in place while his cock slid in and out of her body. His finger skimmed up and down his pen almost in a caress. Her eyes darted to his face, but he was staring at Tobias. She looked back at his hand. He gently stroked the pen and her pussy throbbed. She wanted to feel that touch, teasing along her folds. It’d start as soft as a feather and it’d grow a little firmer, slipping between her pussy lips and whispering across her clit. She shifted on her seat, her eyes drifting partially shut.

He began to skim two fingers along the pen, one on each side and when he stroked upward, they spread apart. Her body clenched, remembering how that felt inside her as he prepared her for his cock. She shifted again, trying to ease the ache between her legs but it wasn’t helping. This meeting had better end soon or she was going to either run out of there or launch herself across the table and jump the man. And she could NOT do that.

“Alison, are you okay?” asked Merri.

She blinked. Shit. Everyone was staring at her. “Uh.”

“Is it the baby?” Merri’s face was filled with concern.
