“Yes, again.” She really had to apologize to Harker.

“Poor guy,” muttered Adrian. “That had to be the worse wedding and wedding night ever.”

“I know. I feel horrible. His nose bled again and then he left.”

“He left? The room? Or the house?” asked Ellie.

“Both. He didn’t come home until really late and he slept in the library.” She’d woken early the next morning and had gone into the kitchen for some water. She’d been worried about him when she’d realized that he wasn’t in bed with her. She’d searched the house and had found him stretched out on the couch in the library. “I feel terrible about this whole thing. What should I do?” She was pretty sure that the blanket she’d covered him with wouldn’t be enough to make him forgive her.

“Apologize,” said Ellie. “Explain that you were drunk and nervous.”

“And then get on your knees and apologize by sucking his dick,” added Adrian.

“Adrian.” There was the sound of a soft slap and laughter from Ellie.

“What? It’ll work. A man can’t stay mad at a woman when her mouth is full of his dick. It’s physically impossible.”

“You are not helping.” Ellie laughed harder and then cleared her throat. “Harker is a reasonable man. Talk to him.”

“Harker? Reasonable?” Alison almost choked. “That man isn’t the least bit reasonable. You do things his way or not at all.”

“I think you covered the not at all,” muttered Adrian.

“Ellie’s right. You aren’t helping.”

“Apologize to him,” said Ellie. “He’ll listen and he’ll be super horny.”

“I doubt that,” laughed Adrian.

“Why?” asked both women.

“Ah…shit…no reason.”

“Spill, Adrian,” said Ellie.

“Okay, but I don’t know anything,” he said. “I’m just guessing. You both understand that, right?”

“Yes,” said Ellie. “Now, talk.”

Alison’s fingers squeezed the phone. She wasn’t sure she wanted to hear this.

“Okay. Like I said, I know nothing. I’m assuming that since he didn’t get laid at home on his wedding night, he probably went somewhere else to take care of that.”

“Is that what you’d do?” asked Ellie.

Alison almost shivered from the ice in her friend’s tone.

“No but I love you. Harker and Alison have a different kind of relationship.” Adrian’s voice lowered, “But I would be pissed if I didn’t get laid on my wedding night. I know we men aren’t supposed to admit that we expect sex, but we do. Take a woman out to a nice restaurant and dancing–we expect sex.”

“A woman doesn’t have to put out because you buy her dinner,” said Ellie.

“Of course not,” said Adrian. “But that doesn’t mean we don’t expect her to. I’m not saying we should force her or anything but if she…fails to live up to our expectations often enough we look elsewhere. That’s why I chased after you so much. I knew you put out.”

“You’re an asshole,” said Ellie.

“Ouch. Stop it. Your elbow is pointy,” said Adrian.

“And you’re a jerk,” said Ellie. “I’m sure Harker didn’t go anywhere to have sex.”
