“Come get me when you are done. I’ll probably need help curling my hair.” I dash out of her room and run across the house to my room.

The bathroom is still full of steam, indicating that Damien has already gotten ready.

I jump in the still warm shower and wash my body and hair in record time.

I dry my hair first while the curling iron is preheating.

Choosing to do minimal but eye catching makeup, I finish in just a few minutes.

Finding my outfit of choice, I get dressed and wait for Mara to come help me with my hair.

Hair has never been my strong point. If I had it my way, I’d forever keep it in a ponytail.

She doesn’t come and after waiting close to ten minutes, I unplug the curling iron and throw my hair in a ponytail. I pull some hair free and let it fall around my face.

Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I say, “Good enough for me.”

I give my reflection one last look before slipping on my heels and letting my growling stomach lead the way.

Damien is dressed in a black button up shirt and khakis while Seth is wearing black slacks and a white button up shirt.

Damien eyes my outfit of choice and gulps loudly. He offers me a tray of appetizers as Seth puts the lobster tails on the grill. “Lobster puff?”

“You guys made lobster puffs?” I take a bite and moan at the creamy concoction.

How did they have time to make these?

“Only the best for the two best ladies in the world.” Seth says, cheesily.

Mara walks over to him at the grill and gives him a kiss on his cheek before grabbing a puff. “Everything tastes better when it is placed in a puff and presented on a doily.”

Eyeing both men, I ask, “What’s going on?”

The two of them are definitely up to something because they have been trying to flatter us all day.

Seth turns away from the grill to look at me. “What do you mean?”

I narrow my eyes at him. “What are you, or the two of you, planning?”

Damien puts the tray down on the outside table that is decorated beautifully. “We can’t just plan a romantic evening for the two of you? When was the last time we actually got to relax and do something like this?”

Graduation weekend is the last time we’ve done something like this.

“You do have a great point. Thank you, both of you, for this. It is perfect.”

Maybe I am overreacting. It has been a while since we’ve dressed up and had a romantic evening.

Mara turns towards me. “Want to help me get drinks?”

“Sure.” I follow her inside as she pours three white wines and one sparkling cider.

“I don’t want to be tipsy tonight in case I need to record a special moment.” She says.

“Don’t get my head spinning.” I might need the wine to help calm my nerves.

Seth calls through the French doors. “Dinner is ready.”

“We’re coming.” I yell back, carrying two white wines.
