“What about you and Seth? Will there be some cohabitation in the future?”

They might have known each other less time than Damien and I, but I know they deeply care about one another.

I can see the way he looks at her.

It’s similar to the way Damien looks at me when he thinks I don’t notice. A look that’s full of longing, love, and lust.

“He already asked me, but I turned him down and told him no.”

Uh, what?

Mara laughs at my shocked expression.

“Just take it one day at a time.” I say, knowing that Mara doesn’t move fast in a relationship.

Her voice gets quieter. “He asked weeks ago when our relationship was barely anything more than a few kisses. Now that I know I like him, I was going to surprise him and tell him yes today.”

“That’s perfect! Oh, I’m so happy for you.”

Tears well up in my eyes.

She playfully bumps her shoulder into mine. “Don’t get emotional. We are both happy and moving on with our lives. Jake got what he deserved and now you can leave him and that horrible week in the past.”

He had to immediately move out of the suite. Not that Damien let me spend another night here, even after Jake was gone.

Since Jake passed all of his classes, the board couldn’t keep him from graduating, but he isn’t allowed to walk with us today.

Mara and Damien wanted me to press charges for the revenge porn and cameras, but I opted for the restraining order instead.

I don’t want to have to go to court months from now and relive the worst week of my life. I want to be able to start my future with Damien now.

Mara seems remorseful. “Don’t let him ruin our special day. I’m sorry I brought him up.”

I stand and lay the black dress flat on my mattress. “I refuse to allow him to affect our graduation day. No more thoughts on Jake.”

“Good. Now, we need to hurry if we are going to meet the guys on the lawn.” Mara leaves my room to finish getting ready.

I finish doing my makeup and slip on the dress. Mara was once again absolutely right, this dress was made for the two of us despite our sizing difference. It hugs me in all the right places.

I grab my phone and key and put them in my pockets. Giving myself another look in the mirror, I slip on my heels before throwing on my gown.

“Do we need to wear our cap right now?” I yell the question so Mara can hear me in her room.

Mara immediately yells back. “Hell no. I’d like to have pictures without it on.”

Good enough for me.

I walk out to the living room as Mara is hobbling to slip on her heels.

Giving me a knowing look, she says, “Yeah, I could have done this in my room, but I was trying to hurry.”

“So, you take double the amount of time?” I tease.

“Yep.” She fixes the strap on her shoes before saying, “Let’s go!”

We take the all too familiar path to the lawn, following dozens of students all ready to get this formality out of the way so they can party the weekend away.

Damien and Seth grin and wave as we make our way over to them. They are both wearing blue long sleeve button up shirts and ties. Damien’s tie is black, while Seth’s is white.
