He was looking straight at me. Feeling a bit nervous, I looked away. I heard the door slam and he bounded into the room.

"What the actual fuck?" he repeated.

"What are you doing here, Chris?" Alexander asked. He was ignored.

Chris stood in front of me. "You're hooking up with my brother now? Is that why you haven't been answering my texts? Is that why you've been going on about being done with me?" He reached for my hand, and I stepped back.

"That's none of your business."

"What is going on?"

Alexander posed his question at the same time as my declaration. Again, he was ignored.

Chris grabbed my arm. "You little slut." Alexander was in front of me immediately.

He ripped Chris's hand from mine. "Don't you dare."

"I shouldn't dare? Really?" He scoffed with narrowed eyes. "Some brother you are. You're sleeping with her, aren't you?"

"What does that have to do with anything? How does our relationship concern you?"

"Don't act like you don't know." He grabbed Alexander's collar and pressed their faces close.

"Chris, let go of me." Even though Chris looked ready for war, Alexander was calm as he spoke. "I don't even understand why you're upset. So why don't you calm down and let's talk about this in a civilized manner."

"Fuck that."

Alexander curled his fingers around Chris's hand. He removed them from his suit easily. "Stay calm and we can. "

Chris's fist slammed into Alexander's jaw before he could finish speaking. I gasped. Alexander's head snapped to the side from the force of impact. I stepped out from behind him.

"Chris!"

Alexander straightened up and adjusted his jaw. "Nice shot," he said with a nod. He rolled his neck, and then punched Chris so swiftly I barely saw him move.

The sound was sickening. Chris stumbled back and held his nose. Blood rolled out and dropped to the floor. Three red spots, a stark contrast to the white marble floors.

I came to stand between them, my arms raised. "Stop it."

"I don't want to fight with you, Chris. We're not kids anymore. Just tell me what's wrong and why you're upset so we can work it out. Why were you saying those things to Sophia? What are you talking about?"

Chris wiped his nose and blood smeared across his face. "Don't pretend like you don't know."

"Whatever you think I know, I don't."

Chris's eyes darted towards me. He stared at me for a moment before his mouth dropped open. "You didn't tell him, did you?" His lips curled into a malicious grin, anger disappearing from his body. "You really didn't tell him about us?" He placed a hand on his chest and looked at me mockingly. "I feel hurt."

I felt panic bubble in me. I didn't want it to be like this. I didn't want Alexander to find out about my relationship with Chris this way. I stared at him. The expression on my face was pleading. "Chris, stop."

"What is going on?"

"Wow. You are one conniving little bitch." He slid his hands into the front pockets of his pants. "Was this supposed to be some kind of revenge? You screwed my brother to get back at me?"

"Chris."

He turned to Alexander. "Since she didn't tell you, I guess I now have the honor of doing so." He pointed at me. "Alex, my dear big brother, your new girlfriend here forgot to mention that she and I used to be a thing."

"Really, Sophia?"
