"Beautiful."She substituted. He was about to answer when the manager swept over,a smile wreathing her face. "Dion and your lovely companion."

"This is Odette,she’s my er-"

"His baby mama."She gave an impish grin.

"How delightful. Please, this way. There’s an umbrella to block out most of thesun and the courtyard this time of year is spectacular. I’llmake sure you’re not bothered by reporters."

"Thank you."He took his seat and reached for his glass of water. "How haveyou been?"

"Rather good. Nothrowing up or anything like that and I managed to eat chickenyesterday. The pregnancy is going very well. How about you? Yousounded frustrated over the phone."

"Technicalities."He said briefly, toying with the moisture on his glass. There werevery few people around giving them a measure of privacy. "Redtape and all that crap."

"I understandthe former owners had a difficult time letting go of the building."

"It’d beenin their family for hundreds of years and had been a grand buildingin the past."

"They let it getrun down, didn’t they?"

He sent her a slightsmile. "I see you’ve done your research."

They made room fortheir meals to be placed before them.

"It's all in thepapers. People are excited about this grand department store. Your PRpeople promised grandiose and old school." She looked up fromher plate. "Will you be able to deliver?"

Settling back againstthe padded chair, he felt himself relaxing. It always amazed him shehad that effect on him. "I’ve also done my research and amvery good at what I do. I know what I want and see the vision infront of me even when I’m sleeping. This is supposed to be mylegacy or one that will be left to my children. Yes, I’lldeliver."

"Children?"Her tapered brows lifted.

"If you’reup for it." He grinned at her.

"How many are wetalking about?" She ignored the pull of her heartstrings.

"Four." Hiseyes twinkled in amusement. "Are you game?"

"Of course I am,as long as you’re the one carrying the other three."

He gave her a painedlook as he dug into his meal. "I thought you wanted what's bestfor me."

"I absolutelydo. One more after this. Lydia and I bickered a lot, but it was nicehaving a sibling."

"And lonelybeing an only child." His smile vanished.

"With us asparents, our child would never be lonely. Suffocated and spoiled, yes, but never lonely."

His smile came backand gave her a sense of relief. "You’re probably right."

"Aren't Ialways?" She asked him saucily.

"I’mbeginning to realize that. Eat up."

"Stop bossing mearound."

He rubbed her backanxiously. "It was probably the shellfish."

"Or the oysters. It could have been the shrimp." She murmured, leaning againsthim. She’d been okay during the meal and the ride to the hotel. As soon as they entered the room, her stomach had emptied.
