“I’m a customer!” I say with my tone rising. “You don’t have to be so rude!”

“Customers have reservations,” Tina says with a shrug. “And you don’t.”

Tiffany is nodding. “You’re just a random lady off the street who’s still standing here for some reason.”

My mouth drops open as I stare at them in indignation. How can a gorgeous place like this hire two rude customer service goblins like them?

“How’s it going?” Aiden asks as he walks over.

I force out a tight smile as I turn to him. He’s going to take it as a red flag if I’m caught arguing with customer service workers, so I try to ignore them.

“They’re booked up,” I say, feeling a little foolish for my impulsivity. This was a bad idea. I should have gone back with Nerf and the boys and maybe returned next weekend with a better plan. I don’t even know if I can go on the date now that I have nowhere to stay for the night. I might have to catch a bus back home.

Aiden takes my hand and pulls me away from the two desk trolls. “Stay at my house.”

“Your house?”

He nods. Those soft blue eyes are making me want to agree so badly. But this is crazy. Isn’t it? We just met…

Although, it feels like I’ve known him longer than a few hours. It feels like I’ve known him for ages.

“Say yes,” he says, begging me with those gorgeous blue eyes. “Come stay with me. It will be a night you’ll never forget.”

The thought of going home vanishes from my mind. I’m going on a date with this man. No matter what.

“Okay,” I say with a smile. “But if your house turns out to be super creepy, I’m out of there.”

He laughs, looking relieved as he gazes at me. “Sounds like a deal. As long as you don’t find my collection of three hundred porcelain dolls creepy, we should be good.”

I laugh at his joke. Hopefully, it’s a joke.

Tina and Tiffany are still staring at me blankly as I turn to leave. I give them one last dirty look and then head out with Aiden.

The ride back to his house is unbelievable. I can’t get over the natural beauty of this place. The mountains and trees, the rivers and lakes, I even see two deer on the way. It’s like a fairytale forest. It’s magical.

“Is this where you live?” I ask as he pulls off the secluded road onto a long gravel driveway. It’s long and curved, heading deep into the forest.

“Yup,” he says with a grin.

We’re surrounded by forest and I can’t see his house. “Not going to lie,” I say as I look out the window. “It’s a little creepy so far.”

He chuckles as he keeps driving.

“Wow,” I whisper when he turns the bend and the forest suddenly stops. We drive into an open area on the side of a cliff. Aiden’s gorgeous house is practically hanging off it, giving it the most stunning views of the mountainous landscape.

It has a modern look and a welcoming feel. Besides the creepy driveway, this house is giving out nothing but good vibes. I love it.

“This is your house?” I ask, staring at it in disbelief.

He nods. “And it’s yours for the night.”

“It’s stunning.”

I’m still in disbelief as we exit the truck and I grab my bags. Is this really happening? Did I get knocked on the head when I landed with my parachute and this is all a feverish dream when I’m really in the Greene Mountain hospital surrounded by worried doctors? Did I get eaten by wolves and sent up to heaven without realizing it?

But when Aiden takes my hand and I feel his warm skin on mine, I know this is real life.

I can feel the strength and desire in his grip, I can feel my heart pounding in anticipation, and I can feel a lustful attraction that can only be real.
