“Holy shit. These are the kind of guys you hang out with? When can I start?”
“We can talk about it when you’ve finished uni. But only if you promise not to hit on my colleagues, or clients.”
“Fat chance. Not when Mason’s around.” She chuckled and squeezed me to her.
“I was at the photoshoot, though. They were all too hot to be allowed. And you haven’t even seen the make-up artist,” I admitted reluctantly, giggling.
“Show me!”
One quick Kraken search later, I’d pulled up Callum’s social media profile up on my screen.
Ava whistled. “Fuck me.”
“Don’t let mum hear you talk like that.”
“Come on, Kat, that’s so unfair. Have you seen the guys at my uni? I knew I should have moved to Kirkmuir for my studies,” she grumbled.
I had to admit she had a point. One photo on Callum’s account drew my attention. The selfie showed him and a certain white tiger arm in arm at a bar, flashing their sexy grins at the phone.
Intriguing.
Isla and mum joined us a while later, and we decided to head out for the day. The bright blue skies and warm spring air promised to be a beautiful day for late April. We got in the car and drove west to a seaside town we’d loved to visit as kids.
After lunch, I treated all of us to ice cream. It was nearly three in the afternoon and I was lounging on a rented beach chair when I noticed a message on my phone.
Roy: Just wanted to say hi. Hope you’re having a good time.
He’d sent it hours ago. I quickly snapped a selfie of me lounging with my family and the twinkling sea in the background.
Kat: Hello from the seaside! I am! How are you?
It took him only a few moments to text back.
Roy: That looks beautiful. Is that your family?
Kat: Yeah, that’s my mum and two baby sisters.
Roy: Baby…
I’d forgotten he was a little brother as well.
Kat: I bet Lewis calls you his baby brother, too. Comes with the job ;)
Despite my better judgement, I sent another text afterwards.
Kat: What are you up to right now? I got the first sneak peek at the graphics from Mason this morning.
Roy: Boring admin stuff. Looking forward to seeing the graphics next week.
I was sure he wasn't talking about the graphics at all.
Damn it, Roy. Are you flirting with me?
Kat: You guys look super hot in the pictures from the recent shoot
“Who are you talking to, Kat? You’re blushing.” Isla grinned widely at me. “Your ice cream’s melting by the way.”
I quickly licked the drops off my fingers. “It’s just Elora,” I lied, making a mental note to check in on my bestie later.
