Roy's arms wrapped around me, one hand coming to rest between my shoulder blades, the other cupping my hip and half an ass cheek, burying his face in my hair and bringing his mouth next to my ear.

“Thank you for bringing me with you.”

“I'm glad you came.”

“I like your friends, but do Penn's knuckle tattoos actually say 'READ MORE'?”

“Yeah,” I giggled. “Penn is really passionate about making literacy great again. They're a little crazy, but they have hearts of gold.”

“And metal bars through their dicks.”

“Yes, that too.”

We kept moving, and I let my hand wander down over his chest then rest over his own piercing pressing against the fabric of his expensive shirt.

“Don’t tell them, but I'm not a fan. I like yours, though,” I muttered, knowing he would be able to hear me even over the deafening music, and grazed it with the tip of my thumb.

“Fuck,” he drawled, his hot breath tickling my ear.

“Sensitive?” I asked, leaning back a little to bat my lashes innocently up at him.

Instead of answering me, Roy ground his hips against mine, his prominent bulge pressing into my abdomen. When he brought his mouth close to the side of my head once more, his tongue darted out to encase my earlobe for a moment.

“What can I say, I'm a prickly guy.”

Oh God.

Images flashed inside my head. His tongue in my mouth for the first time, Roy licking me, his hips snapping forward burying his dick in my throat. I moaned, pressing forward, trying to get closer, get under his skin.

“Something on your mind, baby?” he asked, his tongue leaving my ear to lick down my neck.

“You,” I said without thinking.

The hand between my shoulder blades came up and around to cup my cheek, thumb hitching under my chin and tilting it upwards.

Roy had a way of kissing me that was slow and deliberate. It stopped my heart in my chest before it frantically tried to make up for the lost time. He was all-consuming, and it scared me in the best possible way how much I could lose myself in him.

Chapter Twenty

Kat

At long last, we backed out of the kiss, foreheads leaning against each other as we tried to catch our breaths. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ed dancing just a few feet away from us. He was grinding up on the blonde guy, who had his tongue down Ed's throat. I bet he had seen us make out.

I needed to tell Dex that he was my roommate, just in case Mason accidentally let something slip.

Roy, realising I was distracted, looked over at Ed, then took my hand and led me back to our table, stopping inside the door to the bar to wipe my ruined lipstick off my skin with his thumb. Not long after us, the youngest Grant joined our table, face flushed and a smug grin on his handsome face but refusing to comment when Penn asked him where he'd left blondie.

We all had another drink, and Ed told us more about his plans to open his own studio in Kirkmuir.

“That’s perfect, Ed.” I gestured at Mason. “We won’t have to make the drive up to Broomshire anymore.”

Penn grumbled under his breath. “Yeah, it’s me who’ll have to take the train down here.” He sounded as if he were expected to swim through a sewer tunnel to get to Kirkmuir.

“You’ll have to move here too, I guess. Aw, that’d be great, all three of us in the same city again. That hasn’t been the case since Mace abandoned us.” Ed wiped a fake tear out of his eye and gave both his brothers a benign smile.

“I thought about it. Not because I detest public transport, but I’ve been looking for a larger flat to have space for all my books for a while, and apartment hunting in Broomshire is a joke.”

“You know, Penn, are you sure you aren't a Gargoyle in disguise?” I asked, cocking my head at the oldest Grant. “Our boss always goes on about his books. I bet you and Dexter would bond instantly.”
