“Then we’re doomed,” I teased.

“Oh, stop,” Angela said. “You know what I mean! They can’t just have anyone walking in and doing it when they don’t know for sure how they’re going to look and act on camera. So, I’m going to go in for the interview to make sure I’m a good fit, and we’re going from there.”

“When’s this happening?” Teresa asked.

“Soon,” Angela replied, her tone quiet. “They don’t have the exact dates set up yet, but it’s in the works, and if it’s in progress, it’s not going to take long before the auditions happen.”

“Yeah, okay,” Teresa said, sounding completely unconvinced.

Angela shrugged and stood to head to the counter. “What do you two want?”

“A latte, thank you,” I said.

“Same, with extra sugar,” Teresa called out. “Poor thing. I hope she gets the job, but you know, it’s not like she’s living in the right place for a TV hosting gig if you ask me.”

“She could do it,” I said. “It would be easier in Atlanta or even more likely out in Cali, but she could still do it.”

“I just don’t want her to be disappointed if she doesn’t get it, you know? Otherwise, I would be all over the notion she’s got an audition.”

“You can still support her,” I said. “I mean, you don’t have to act like this is her big break, but at the same time, it’s a big deal to her, and I’m sure she would appreciate hearing that we’re cheering for her,” I said.

“I do support her,” Teresa argued. “I’m just trying to be realistic.”

“I know, but you could be a little less so,” I said.

“You think?” she asked.

Before either of us had the chance to continue, Angela returned with coffees in hand.

“I know she’s looking at me weird for getting a to-go tray, but there’s no way I’m going to balance three coffees in my arms,” Angela said.

“And God forbid you make more than one trip,” I told her with a grin.

“Absolutely not,” she said. “Work smarter not harder.”

“True,” Teresa chimed in. “So when will you know your audition is happening?”

“Should know what time it will be by the end of the week,” she said. “At least an idea of when it’s going to be. Why?”

“No reason,” Teresa said with a shrug. “I just wanted to wish you luck. If you want some company, I’m down to join you, too, if I don’t have the kids that day.”

“Really?” Angela eyed our sister as though it was some sort of trap, but Teresa gave her a warm smile.

“Totally,” she said. “Text me, yeah?”

“Okay,” Angela said. “I don’t know if there’s going to be people allowed to go in with me, but if there is, I’d love it if you could come. You too, Cass.”

“Wouldn’t miss it if there’s any way my schedule allows it,” I told her. “Just text me when you have more of an idea of when, and we’ll go from there.”

“It’s a plan then,” Angela said with a grin.

The conversation took another turn, and we talked about the normal things we discussed when we were together. Gigi, work, how the kids we were nannying were getting along. It was always a nice way to catch up with my sisters every couple of weeks, especially since life could keep us too busy to really get to spend time together outside of when I was handing out the checks.

Forty-five minutes later, my latte was nearly finished, and both my sisters were getting ready to leave.

“Until we meet again!” Teresa dramatically said. “Love you both.”

“Love you,” I said.
