“Nikki mentioned the same thing and it’s because of her the idea is in my head every day. She likes playing matchmaker.” The girls laugh.

“Yeah, Nikki likes to help.”

“She’s great, all of them are and I’m happy to be a part of this family again.” I go over to Christopher, all of them are smiling and having fun this is what we need. Even though things are not great we have the kids that make everything better.

It’s been a week since the incident at the club and they arrested the guy again since he couldn’t get what they wanted. Now would be the time the guys make a move and for him to get more product from his handler. Things have been stressful for us all. Security has been doubled since the incident at the club last week. We are still working on a plan to make sure no more drugs get in town. I got dressed then drove to work. When I walked in the music was playing, bodies everywhere. One day when things settle down I’m going to enjoy this club and have some fun. Arms wrap around me and a kiss on the cheek.

“Hey, Jesse.”

“Hey Nicole how is that plan coming alone?” he asks and I sigh.

“It’s still in the works can’t rush it we have to be careful. Do you have a fight tonight?” I ask.

“I do, ten o’clock.”

“I will try and make it to your fight.”

“Thanks, I’m going to dedicate this win to you.” He says with a grin.

“You better win.”

“Ohh I will love, I always do.” I laugh he’s cocky and he has every right he’s undefeated. I walk over to the bar and start serving drinks. I have been working for three hours and no crazy customers tonight it’s a nice change not dealing with any annoying men hitting on me or trying to touch me. I look up to see a man who looks very suspicious and I have a bad feeling about this, I keep my eyes on him as I look for Jesse.

Nicole- Hey where are you?

Jesse- Underground why?

Nicole- I need you upstairs now.

Jesse- I’ll be right there.

I kept my eyes on him and something feels off he keeps looking around. I turn my head as Jesse walks over to me.

“What’s wrong?”

“Do you see that guy right there?” I point in his direction.

“Yeah what about him?”

“Something feels off I’m getting bad vibes from him he keeps looking around and he stays in the shadows.”

“Alright stay here I’ll go check it out.” Jesse walks towards the spot I showed him. That’s when I heard a loud explosion I fell to the floor my ears ringing and I feel a sharp pain in my gut. I looked down and there was something sticking out and blood everywhere.

“Jesse?” I yell my ears still ringing I try to sit up but the pain is too much to bear. All I saw was bodies everywhere and Jesse nowhere in sight. God please let him be okay. He was so close to the explosion. I try to get up so I can look for him and that’s when everything goes black.

Hearing voices I try to open my eyes, but they wouldn’t open no matter how much I wanted them to. After a couple of tries, they open a fraction and it took me a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the light.

“Jesse.” I yell when I sat up straight and winced in pain.

“Wow lay back down he’s okay.” Daniel says as he lays me back down. The door opens and Jesse walks in with his arm in a sling and his face all scratched up.

“Hey I’m okay how are you feeling?” Jesse asks.

“Sore, very fucking sore.” I try to move and they both stop me. I look around and I didn’t see Christopher and that was weird.

“Where’s Christopher?” I ask. They both look at each other and I didn’t like how their faces went sour.

“Where is he Daniel?” I demand.
