“Not here, he’s dealing with the problem. You just missed him he left five minutes ago when they got a lead.”
“On the guy who set the bomb?” I look at Jesse and he nods his head.
“Please tell me they are being smart about this. This is the perfect time for that bitch to sink her teeth into you guys.”
“You need to relax.”
“I will relax when I know they are not being stupid.” They both sigh heavily and that’s all I need to know they are being reckless. The door opens and Toby walks through the doors not the person I want to see, but he will do.
“Hey Nicole how are you feeling?” he asks.
“Sore and pissed very pissed. Where is Christopher?”
“I don’t know.”
“What the fuck do you mean you don’t know, how is it that none of you know where he is? I want to talk to Spencer now.”
“About that.”
“What?” I yell.
“We don’t know where he is either or Jasper.” I sat up straight.
“How the fuck do you miss the mafia boss, his right hand man and one of the top members of the MC, someone please explain that to me.” I yell. The machine started beeping loud and a nurse walks in.
“I’m going to have to ask you to leave if you are just going to upset her.”
“Sorry it won’t happen again.” They say in unison. I started to relax and take deep breaths. The nurse leaves and that’s when Ray walks in, oh boy.
“Hey Nicole, Daniel how are you feeling?”
“Sore and frustrated.” He nods his head and walks towards me Toby placed his hand in front of Ray so he couldn’t get any closer.
“Who the fuck are you?”
“A friend who the fuck are you?” Ray says back.
“Stop it. It’s good to see you Ray.”
“It’s good to see you alive and awake. Kate will be by in a little while.”
“How is she?”
“A nervous wreck just like I was.”
“I’m okay just a little sore is all.” He walks past Toby and kisses my cheek.
“Please tell me you know where they are?” he whispered in my ear. I shook my head and he sighs.
“Do you know who is behind this?” I ask Ray.
“Not yet, but we are working on it.”
“I will try my best to keep them out of her reach but it’s not going to be easy.” Ray whispered again in my ear.
“Do what you have to do and be careful.”
“I always do.” He leaves the room and Daniel raises his eyebrow secretly asking the question I know he wants to ask.
