“Who was that?” Toby askes.
“An old friend Toby.”
“Why do I feel like there’s more to it and nobody is telling me.”
“If there’s something you needed to know you would know about it.”
“Alright Jesse you need to go back to your room and relax and Toby you need to go back to the clubhouse and keep things in order.”
“Okay.” They both left my room and Daniel turns back to me.
“Ray’s your source isn’t he?” he asks, I knew he would put it together.
“You can’t tell anyone.” I tell him.
“I don’t see what the problem is.”
“He’s a cop Daniel how do you not see a problem?”
“He’s been a friend of the family’s since middle school we didn’t always get along but he’s still family, cop or not. Plus we both know why he became a cop in the first place.”
“I know but not everyone is going to accept him and you know it. It’s less of a problem if we keep this between us.”
“Fine I get it, but we shouldn’t isolate him from us, just saying.”
“I agree with you and we won’t.”
“Good get some rest.” Even though I just got up I’m so exhausted. Daniel kisses my forehead and I fall back to sleep.
