“Oh.” I frowned. I hope this wasn’t about me.

“Do you know anything about it?” he asked.

“No. Why would I?”

“You said you worked here?”

“I don’t do drama. Now get out of my way.”

I walked past him and into the building. It really was wild inside the building. As I walked back to the office, my phone rang. My personal phone was still missing. I answered it.

“Hey, I sent the supplies to your office for the new virtual assistant. Then they can start right away.”

“Oh, yeah. What’d you send?”

“Laptop and phone. I think that’s all he’ll need.”

My brows furrowed at his words. Did Brian know it was a girl? From my email, it should have been clear that it was a woman, but I couldn't be certain. “I’ll meet up with her later today. I’ll introduce her to everything. James will help you out, so I don't have to be pestered by you.”

“As long as they get the job done.”

“She was the best applicant we had. Everyone else seemed rather scared to deal with you.”

There were other factors. I didn’t really want to tell Brian about what his boyfriend did. Donovan was right. We really needed to get them in the same building, or at least the same city. Getting Brian a virtual assistant helped me a lot. The audacity that these guys felt they could run a growing tech company with no other support was ridiculous. Practically needed to babysit these two.

“Yeah. I got to go.”

“Fine. Bye.”

As I put my phone down, I heard the clicking of heels on the tile. I looked up and saw Kate. “Hello there, Jordan.”

“What are you doing here in the dungeon, Kate?” I sipped on the coffee that didn’t spill. It wasn’t mine, but Cal wasn’t here at the moment. Oh well. Finders keepers, I guess.

“It’s kind of funny how there are reporters out there.”

“Yeah, why is that?” Even though the one guy told me. I wanted to know whatshethought of it.

“They say it’s Mr. Lyons.”

“Ah, shit. Can’t believe that,” I lied.

“Funny thing is, I know he’s been chatting with you lately.”

I paused with the coffee cup to my mouth. “Excuse me?”

Her head tilted as she smirked. “Well?”

“I don’t know what you are trying to say. Speak plain English.”

“It looks like they are about to suspend him, but why are all these women coming out? Is it you?”

“What? I didn’t make any posts on socials or report him for shit.”

“Come to the office with me and we’ll talk all about it.”

“Why? I’m not under you anymore.”

Kate smirked. “Yes. That’s right. You’reunderCal now.”
