My eyes narrowed. “Yes. That is the chain of command. I’m glad that you are aware of that.”

“You need to come to the CEO’s office.”

I tapped on my computer screen. “My work is here.”

“Look, I’m coming here with the backing of the stockholders.”

“You mean Jessica.”

Stomping footsteps echoed behind Kate, and Cal popped up behind her. “Kate, why are you here?” he hissed.

She smirked again. “Jordan needs to see the CEO.”

Cal stepped closer to Kate; she stepped back. “No, she doesn’t.”

“Well, we’ll see when security escorts her out,” Kate said, as she turned.

“What?!” I screamed. I grabbed my purse and followed her. Cal started walking beside me.

Chapter 47

Cal

What was she planning?

Jordan worried her bottom lip as we followed Kate. This was the thing she was warning me about since we found out about each other. The walk to my father’s office was pure agony. Jessica beamed as she saw Kate walk through the door. Mr. Lyons walked out of the office and visibly walked into Jordan. I grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him into the wall.

“Don’t fucking touch her,” I hissed.

“Stop that! I’m fine. Let him go,” she said as she touched my shoulder. I released him and he walked off, chuckling.

“That was an entertaining minute,” Jessica said. “It proves the point.”

“Proves what point?” I asked.

Jordan’s face paled as she stepped away from me.

“You’re fucking your assistant!” my father yelled. My eyes flickered down and saw Jordan’s original phone. The phone that had all her texts from when we first met. The same one that shewas worried about what would happen if it got out. Fuck. She was right.

“You don’t have proof,” I said.

“She’s the one that wrote that social media post.”

“No, I didn’t!” Jordan exclaimed.

“It doesn’t matter. You’re fired,” he said. “We can’t have this leak, even if youdidn’tdo this.”

Jordan bit her cheek as she walked to get her phone. “You realize someone stole that from my desk, right? Looks like you have some snakes in your office. Bye. I’m packing my stuff. You don’t have to escort me out.”

Jordan stormed out, and Kate followed with a smirk. Jessica turned to my father. “I told you he was the same as he used to be.”

“Did you fire Mr. Lyons? Alana said that there were multiple emails pointing the finger athim.Jordan didn’t make that post. She’s too busy to do that,” I explained.

“Too busy screwing her boss,” Jessica sneered.

“No, I didn’t fire him. He’s on suspension till we can sort this out.”

“This is bullshit,” I said. “Someone took her phone from her desk the other day.”
