I furrow my brows together, uncertain of what he's trying to ask me. "I seem to be asking this question a lot right now, but what do you mean?"

He walks around the bartop until he's standing behind it. "You're gonna be the one behind this bar, training people, taking orders, all of it. So, in my eyes you should have some say in what it looks like."

My eyes widen from the shock of his words, but I take a look at the blank canvas in front of me. The possibilities are endless.

"First of all, it would be super cool if we could get Magnus to continue what he did for the bartop below it. Maybe even add some lights underneath it to give it this nice glow. "

I can already envision how stunning it would look, and how it would add to the overall vibe of the bar.

There's a smaller vent pipe behind the bar that I keep drifting to.

Runes speaks up, "We're going to have that removed in a couple of days."

I look right at him. "Why? You could paint it black like the ceilings and we could put the logos for whatever beers we're going to have on tap here. I haven't seen anything done like that before, and we all went to a lot of bars when we were on the road."

Fenrir nods, liking my ideas. "That's a unique idea for sure."

I look up at the space and name the only other things I can think of. "We'll need some shelving added on the brick wall. I'd say stick with black, since that's a common theme. We want lighting to illuminate the glasses, adding some brightness to the space."

Runes walks from around the bar, looking at the space the same way I am. "All right, anything else?"

I nod, "There are things I'm going to need for functionality. Like a glass holder along the length of the bar. I need two small mini fridges. One for this side of the bar, and one on the other for a second bartender to use on busy nights."

I continue to list off a few more things and Runes nods, accepting everything I'm saying to him.

Runes phone dings loudly and in the middle of speaking to me he stops, his eyes scanning over the text message he's just received. "Everything you said sounds great. I need to run. Iforgot I told Charm I'd help her and Fern with a mixer event for Calming Spaces. Fenrir wrap things up with Starla and we'll talk later."

Before Fenrir can respond Runes is making his way toward the door.

The door slams shut and Fenrir looks at me. "Is there anything else you think we might need?"

I lick my lips, pondering a couple of things. "Those are the major ones. We can always grab some finishing touches or make some small changes when everything else is ready. When are you thinking of opening?"

Fenrir takes a moment to think about his answer. "I'm gonna say a month after we get our liquor license. We want to make sure we have suppliers lined up, and ideally, we want people in training before we launch as well. Can you handle getting a menu created for the bar?"

I nod. "Yeah, I can do that."

Fenrir swallows hard. "There's something else I wanted to say to you. It's about what Regnor said. I heard the whole thing, and nothing he said was true. You have a place within the club, and you're higher up than that pathetic fucker."

I wave my hand in dismissal. "It's not a big deal. It's all over with now, right?"

Fenrir slowly shakes his head, his tone laced with remorse. "It shouldn't have ever happened in the first place. So, on behalf of the club I'm sorry."

I'm at a loss for words, so I throw together a quick response. "It's fine, Fenrir."

He cackles deeply, "I know better than that. When a woman say's they're fine, they're never really fine. I'll drop it, though. Have you gone to see Meghan?"

His question pierces my heart like a stray bullet. "No, not in a couple of weeks. I hate seeing her in that hospital bed. I hate that this happened to her."

Fenrir nods a couple of times. "It's understandable. What happened to her shouldn't have. How are you coping with it all? I know you two are very close."

My throat tightens and I struggle to respond. I don't want him to hear the emotion in my voice. "I'm okay, I guess," I swallow hard, "I should really get over there and see her."

Fenrir and I wrap up our conversation and make our way out of the bar together. The previously open parking lot is now divided with a fence, separating the bar's lot from the clubhouse's.

They were procrastinating on it a bit, so I'm glad it's done. I already imagined drunken strangers leaving the bar, walking straight into the clubhouse by mistake.

As we step outside, the cool winter air greets us as a light breeze hits my face. I thought I'd go grab a coffee, but after talking about Meghan it doesn't feel right.
