“Dad?” Zach says through the door, and I pull away from Loukas, breathless.

Loukas clears his throat “Yeah buddy?”

“Melia and I are ready.”

I step back as Loukas lets out a groan and adjusts himself in his jeans.

“We will be right there,” he answers, and I chuckle, turning to grab some yoga pants and a tank top. I know that Breanne is going to have me wear a pair of her fighting leathers since the chances of me needing to shift are slim.

“Little cock blockers,” Loukas whispers against my ear as I raise my hands to slip on my shirt.

“Cherish this time, they won’t always want you around,” I tell him, leaning back into him.

He places a soft kiss on my neck, I expect him to keep going, instead, he lets out a heavy breath. “You’re right.”

“Plus, we can have all the alone time we want when they start at the academy.” I chuckle as I nuzzle into his neck.

“And once we get all of our enemies out of the way,” he says.

“We will never be able to get rid of all our enemies. Not until this stupid prophecy is done,” I say, pulling the shirt over my head.

“What prophecy?” he asks and I turn to him.

“I didn’t tell you?” I ask. “I was sure that I did.” My brows furrow as I go over all the conversations we’ve had since we met and I realize that although we’ve talked about a lot of things, as I continue looking back, I realize we didn’t talk about what’s going on in the world, the vengeful goddess, or the prophecy.

“Not that I remember,” he admits.

“I’ll tell you on our walk,” I tell him, slipping my feet into my flip-flops. I prefer to be barefoot, but, if I wear shoes, my toes cannot be covered.

“Ready, little ones?” I ask, as I open the door, finding both Zach and Amelia standing there, vibrating with excitement. Amelia is dressed in a blue princess dress, meaning she’s already changed out of the pink one this morning.

“Can I fly there?” Amelia asks, looking from her dad and back to me.

“It’s okay with me,” Loukas whispers in my ear, letting me answer her.

“Sure.”

“Me too?” Zach asks.

“How?” I ask, keeping my tone light.

“Skarlyt said that I should be able to fly with my magic and I’d like to try.”

I nod my head, remembering Skarlyt’s display.

“Then absolutely,” I tell him, and he beams at me, gripping his sisters and hand rushing out of the house.

“Well, that works, now they can fly, and we can talk,” Loukas says, reaching out and threading his fingers with mine.

When we get outside, Amelia has already shifted, leaving her dress and shoes in a pile on the ground. I reach down and scoop them up, tucking it under my arm for the walk, and watch as Zach hovers a few inches off the ground, his smoky magicsurrounding him. He wobbles as he looks at us before returning his concentration to his magic and evening out.

“Amelia, fly above the trees and look for a big castle,” I shout, watching as Amelia does as I say, her little wings flapping. She hoots when she sees it and takes off toward it.

Zach, seeing this, does the same, albeit a little slower as Loukas and I begin to walk.

“So, this prophecy…”

“I don’t even know where to begin,” I admit.
