It wasn’t that I didn’t want to. In fact, over the past few days I’d thought of little else. The more time I spent with Sebastian, the more he opened up to me.

And the more he opened up to me, the closer I felt to him.

My fears of him leaving had been getting quieter by the day. He’d already exchanged contracts on the house, cash apparently a good motivator for getting things moving quickly. In two weeks, it would be his.

So why hadn’t we taken that final step?

Well, there were two reasons. Both around six foot two and seeming to pop up at the most inopportune moments.

Fortunately, they hadn’t walked in on us doing anything yet, but with Leo being on annual leave this week, they were just always there.

I mean, it was great in a way, because the more they saw Sebastian with me, the more they relaxed around him.

They could see how happy he was making me, and in turn, that made them happy.

What would have made me happier though, was a bit of privacy. Somewhere where we’d have enough time for something more than a hasty blowjob or a mutually beneficial frotting session. I’d tried to seduce him into things a couple of times when we’d been behind my closed bedroom door, but Sebastian always put the brakes on if the others were there.

So when he’d had told me to pack two days’ worth of clothes, I’d been very excited. Not only was I getting to spend forty-eight solid hours with him, but we’d be alone.

Sebastian had been very tight-lipped about his plans, but honestly, so long as it involved the two of us and a bed at some point, I didn’t really mind where he was taking me.

“We’re going to an airport,” Sebastian admitted, flashing me a grin. He was wearing sunglasses, the winter sun annoyingly low in the sky. I hadn’t thought it was possible, but he was even more devastatingly handsome with them on. “But we aren’t going too far.”

“Is that all you’re going to tell me?”

“For now.” His grin faded. “Is that okay?”

“Yes,” I said quickly. “I actually…like that you’re surprising me.”

“Good.” He reached over to squeeze my thigh. “I’d hoped that would be the case, given what Dagon told me.”

I glanced at him questioningly. “Dagon? When did you see him?”

“He came with Leo and Toby to Argentina,” Sebastian said, overtaking a slow-moving BMW. “I think Ferry wanted Leo to have another demon with him. Not sure why since Toby is more than capable of handling himself, but he felt more comfortable having Dagon go.”

“What did Dagon tell you?”

Sebastian cringed. “I’m suddenly realising that this might have been said in confidence.”

I stiffened. “Okay, now you need to tell me.”

“It’s nothing bad,” Sebastian said reassuringly. “When Lucky told you about how Dimitri kidnapped him and refused to let him go until he gave them a chance, you told him you wished someone would spirit you away too.”

“Oh,” I muttered. “I didn’t realise Lucky would share that with his mates.”

“He didn’t. Dagon was on the other side of the door making sure the two of you weren’t disturbed, and he heard everything.”

I groaned, pinching the bridge of my nose. This must be why Sebastian was so against us fooling around when Ferry was home. “Fabulous.”

Sebastian hummed in agreement. “Those demons are an interfering bunch of fuckers. It’s a good lesson for the future though—if there’s a supe nearby they’re probably eavesdropping. Anyway, Dagon gave it to me as a suggestion on how to win you over.”

My lips twitched. “Not sure if it counts as kidnapping if I willingly packed a bag and got into your car.”

Sebastian flicked the indicator, pulling off at the junction for Farnborough. “Well, after what you’ve been through, I didn’t think that was a good idea.”

I thought about the nightmares that dragged me from sleep, making me shuffle from the bedroom into the living room to watch mindless TV until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.

Now at least I could phone Sebastian to keep me company if I had a nightmare. Not that I had. In fact, I didn’t think I’d had one since the day he’d walked back into my life.
