“Steel, don’t worry about Roach. He's getting what he deserves. That’s all you need to know.”

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean…? Dane…? Dane.” Steel snaps.

The line goes dead. “Fuck, we need to get in there. I never really thought she would really hurt one of us.” Ares paces.

“Can you hack into the cameras down there?” Steel asks me, and I shake my head. She has them on her own network; Dane designed it. It’s higher security than Fort Knox. Fuck, he’s a fucking genius, that man.

“Wait. Skye. She had the app on her phone. She had the app when ya know…” Then Steel storms out of the place and heads towards Skye’s.

He hammers on her door. “Skye, Skye. It’s Steel, Skye.”

Opening the door, she crosses her arms before we can say anything. Steels storming in. “I need your phone. We need to see the footage of the office you can get in, right? You still have it on your phone. Tell me you still have it.”

“Woah, woah, what the fuck?” Tank comes out of the bedroom and stops Steel dead in his tracks.

“We think she has Roach in the office.” Steel tries to reason. “We need eyes in there, Skye. Do you still have the app?”

Skye nods but crosses her arms.

“Skye, we need to check Roach is okay.”

Skye looks away from us all.

“Skye?” Tank touches her arm. “We need to see.”

She shakes her head.

“What the fuck do you mean, no? He’s a brother. We need to make sure he’s okay,” Ares spits, and Tank steps between them.

“Don’t fucking talk to her like that.” Tank turns and holds her by her shoulders. “Skye, if he’s down there… if he’s hurt.”

She shakes her head again and takes a deep breath. “He’s not. Not any more anyway now I’d like you to leave.”

“Skye, where is he?”

She just shrugs.

“Maybe you should go.” Tank moves us towards the door and shuts it before we hear the click of the lock.

That says it all: we never lock our doors, and now we’re locking each other out. Things are really fucked up.

“So now what?” I ask.

“Back to the tech room. Let's see what else we can find.” Ares storms off, and we follow behind him, things making less and less sense the more we find.

Skye

Tank pushes them out the door, shuts it and locks it. Stepping back towards me, I burst into tears. “Love, it’s okay. I won’t allow them to treat you like that. But I will ask, can you get in touch with Ray?”

I nod.

“Love, I need to see her.” He pulls me to him and holds me tight, “For me, not them. I need you to ask her if she will meet me, okay?”

I nod against him. “I can’t lose her. She’s the only parental figure I’ve ever had, and if it wasn’t for her…”

“I know love, I know.” Tank rubs my back and holds me close.

“I need to go to bed.” I lean up and kiss him and head to the bedroom, where I cry myself to sleep.
