Since it was his family’s island, she wanted to see what he thought of it. She knew it was thrown around a lot.
“My mother would say yes to that. I might not even argue.”
She choked on her bite. “You wouldn’t tell your mother that, would you?”
“That you flashed me your tiny little boobs,” he said quietly. “By the way, I found them perfectly perky. Any more than a mouthful is a waste.”
She felt the heat between her legs once again. It’d been happening pretty much daily since she’d first talked to Carson.
“Well then,” she said and went back to eating.
He smirked at her. “No, I wouldn’t tell my mother. However, on this island, don’t be surprised if someone finds out I was at the beach with a woman who lost her top.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’ll just laugh it off.”
“Because you’re good like that. A story to tell to someone in the future.”
“Like my kids,” she said. She put it out there to see what he’d say about it. She’d never been someone that shied away from saying she wanted a family at some point in her life.
Normally she said that before she had sex with a guy. Was she subconsciously bringing that up now to find out what he wanted?
But what if he didn’t want kids? In the past, she’d move on and not bother to waste her time.
“Maybe your grandkids. Your kids might get grossed out. Grandkids tend to find more humor in those stories,” he said. “I’ll be telling my grandkids for sure.”
That answered her question right there without her even having to ask.
“Want to add something to the list now?” she asked.
“What’s that?” he asked.
“Eating our meal and paying in less than ten minutes.”
“Deal,” he said, biting into his burger and lifting his hand for the hostess.
“Is there a problem with the food?”
“Nope,” he said. “But can we get the bill? We need to leave in a hurry, but the food is too good to waste. Tell my cousin he did a great job as always.”
The hostess left to get the bill.
“Why did you tell her you were Duke’s cousin? Now he’ll know we left early.”
“Yep and he’d understand. How about adding that to the list? Subtly letting the family know. Welcome to the Bond family.”
She took two more huge bites and was chewing as fast as she could.
Any guy that was watching her the past less than two weeks and stuck around was a keeper in her mind.
The bill came, Carson pulled out a lot of bills from his wallet and left them on the table. More than he had to with a very generous tip on top of it.
He grabbed a few more fries and the rest of his burger as they walked out.
She did the same with the last few bites of her sandwich and a couple of chips too.
“That was so rude of us,” she said. “Hadley even lifted her eyebrow at us.”
“They could think I’m on call and had to leave.”
