“Sure.”

“Do you believe me?”

My brows scrunched in confusion. “About what?”

“About not getting that woman pregnant,” he answered. “Do you believe me?”

“Do I need to?” I asked. “I’m not your lawyer.”

His full lips twitched in amusement. “I can see why you’re good at your job. Political avoidance.”

Okay, officially insulted.

I looked over at Conrad. “It’s clear that Mr. Miller isn’t impressed with Ruben, Decan, or me as much as you are. I think Aretha or Phillip might be better suited-”

“Leave us,” Titan ordered, his voice brooking no argument. “Everyone.”

“Excuse me?” Opal asked, clearly as confused as the rest of us.

His eyes never leaving mine, he said, “I’d like to speak to Ms. Leland alone.”

“I’m not sure if that’s a good idea-”

“Or I can request to speak to Mr. Hamilton,” he threatened. “Or better yet, use another firm, making it clear why I’m not using this one.”

I was fuming while the others wordlessly stood up from their chairs to follow Titan’s orders. Money talked, and I knew this. However, Titan’s highhanded tactics weren’t appreciated, no matter how scorching hot the guy was.

As soon as the room was empty, I asked, “Who in the hell do you think you are?”

Ignoring me, he repeated his question. “Do you believe me?”

“It’s not my job to believe you, nor is it any of my business, Mr. Miller-”

“Call me Titan,” he said, another order.

“What’s wrong with Mr. Miller?”

“Because, baby, we’re going to be spending a lot of time together after today,” he said. “So, I’d prefer it if you called me by my first name.”

Chapter 7

Titan~

Her green eyes flared, and I knew that she was pissed at me calling her baby, but she was just going to have to get used to it.

When I had first walked into the conference room, I had noticed Opal Shumaker because a person couldn’t not notice her first. She had more tattoos than I did, and she looked like she carried a switchblade in her back pocket. The only thing that I could surmise was that she must be very good at her job if her appearance didn’t matter to anyone here.

The next person that I had noticed was Ms. Lux Leland, and if I hadn’t been here for the reason that I was here, I would have asked her out. I would have asked her out, and I would have done it in front of everyone. It also would have been a first for me in eons. I couldn’t remember the last time that I had ever asked a female out, if I’d even had at all.

She looked to be in her late twenties, maybe hitting thirty, and she had platinum blonde hair, sharp green eyes, and on her five-foot-two/three frame, the woman had curves that begged to be caressed. Lux Leland looked like I could rest my head on her natural tits and fall right to sleep, better than any pillow in existence. Though she was dressed professionally in a tailored skirt, top, and suit jacket, there was no hiding what she was sporting underneath. In fact, she kind of reminded me of that porn star, Mia Malkova, but way hotter.

“What do you mean?” she asked, choosing to ignore the inappropriate endearment.

“I mean that I like your strategy,” I told her. “Unlike your two cohorts, you actually took the time to find out the kind of person that I am, and then you tailored your approach to fit what is comfortable for me and my character as a person.”

Defending her people, she said, “Ruben and Decan are very good at their jobs.”

“If you say so,” I remarked, not completely convinced.
