“Titan, I can’t do this,” she confessed. “I don’t need this shit in my life.”

“Too fucking bad,” I snarled. “Since I need you in my life, I’m not giving you a choice.” I let go of her chin. “I’ll handle those two women, and then you and I are going to work this shit out.”

“Titan, you can’t go in front of the cameras and say those things about-”

“I can do whatever I need to in order to clear this shit up,” I bit out. “Lux, you have no idea the lengths that I’ll go to keep you, so if you care so damn much about those women and their reputations, then you hurry up and change your mind about us before it’s too late.”

“That’s blackmail,” she gasped.

“Something that you should be used to from me by now,” I pointed out.

Before she could say anything more, I was storming out of her condo, slamming the door behind me, needing a punching bag. Apart from those two women lying on me, I’d never let anyone come between me and Lux, and that was something that she was going to have to understand. She was in for a rough road if she didn’t.

Chapter 22

Lux~

Two hours later, I was still reeling from my fight with Titan, and I didn’t know what to do next. I hadn’t ever had a guy behave in such a way, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I was so damn confused, and that’s why Lita was here, Tim being kind enough to recognize an emergency when he saw one.

“I don’t know what to say,” Lita admitted after I vomited the entire ordeal all over her. “I mean, that’s some pretty intense shit, Lux.”

I tucked my legs underneath me, trying to get comfortable on the couch. “You should have seen him, Lita,” I sighed. “He was so damn unhinged.”

Lita looked at me understandingly. “Lux, he’s got two women ruining his life on the internet. Plus, the only woman that he’s ever dated just tried to dump him.”

“Whose side are you on?” I asked, even though I knew that Lita was solid.

“You know better than to ask me that question,” she chided. “I just think that Opal makes a good point. Rachel’s social media has blown up after naming Titan the father of her child. With his history with women, it’s not a stretch for someone else to make the same claim and make it sound believable.”

So many possibilities were running through my mind that I had no idea what to think. Maybe it was because I couldn’t identify with people that would do such a horrible thing to someone else. I could never imagine doing something so ratchet, and without the answer of why these women would do such a thing, I found myself leaning towards believing them because nothing else made sense in my brain.

However, there was also the way that Titan had spoken of them. It’d been easy to see how livid he’d been, but he just kept referring to them as ‘those women’, he never once called them names. The closest that he’d come was calling them attention whores, but he still hadn’t insulted them for anything else. So, did that mean that he really did respect women, or did that just mean that he respected me enough not to get vulgar around me? Granted, in the bedroom, he’d been plenty vulgar, but I supposed that it wasn’t the same thing.

“I want to believe him,” I admitted. “I just…God, I just don’t want to be the fool that ignores the red flags, Lita. It’s bad enough that I agreed to still be his girlfriend in front of the cameras, but what if he’s lying? What if one or both of those kids are his?”

“Weren’t you the one telling me that Titan Miller didn’t need to lie about anything?” she replied, reminding me of our conversation.

“Yes,” I grumbled. “And…and a part of me still believes that.”

She reached over, then squeezed my leg. “Sounds like you’re scared to me,” she said. “And if you’re this scared, then you must really care about him.”

“No one falls in love after a couple of weeks,” I said, my voice lacking all conviction.

“Look, I’m not trying to make you feel bad or anything like that.” I watched as she tucked her legs underneath her butt, getting comfortable. “I just think that you might be overthinking this. Either you believe Titan or not. It really is that simple, Lux.”

“What about all that shit about not letting me go?” I asked. “You don’t see that as a huge red flag?”

“Hell no,” she snorted. “I think that shit is hot. I love it when Tim gets all possessive on me.” She shivered dramatically. “It super turns me on.”

Despite the clusterfuck I found myself in, I grinned. “That’s because youknowthat he loves you and isn’t running around, fathering random children all over the place.”

“Can I ask you something?” I nodded. “How long did it take for you to get over Robert?”

“A few months,” I admitted. “It’d taken awhile to not want to automatically call him to tell him about my day or whatever.”

“So, after dating for a few years, it only took you a few months to get over him, yeah?”

“What’s your point?” I asked hesitantly.
