“How can you be in love with someone that hates Sire?” Atlas asked. He always called Raven Sire because of his last name, and Raven hated it.

“She also hates basketball,” Sebastian reiterated.

“I’m so fucking confused,” Titan muttered.

“If you guys will shut the fuck up, I’ll explain,” I said, already running a hand through my hair.

“Please do,” Raven replied.

“This ought to be good,” Atlas added.

For the next ten minutes, I told them all about meeting Sinclair. I let them know everything because we were a bunch of schoolgirls like that. Yeah, I left the intimate details out, but I was honest about everything else. To a bunch of professional athletes, I was offending them with every word out of my mouth.

Finally, Raven said, “Well, if she’s going to hate me for anything, let it be that.”

“Did you guys all miss the part where she hates basketball players?” Titan asked. “I mean, am I the only asshole that sees that as a red flag?”

“To be fair, it sounds like she hates all athletes,” Atlas remarked. “So, maybe it’s not personal.”

“I think she’s amazing,” Sebastian chuckled.

“Are you happy?” Raven asked. “That’s all I really care about.”

“I called you guys, didn’t I?”

“Okay, so…cool. Fuck the red flags,” Titan said. “Congratulations, O.”

I laughed. “Thanks, man.”

“Seriously, I think she’s awesome,” Sebastian repeated. “I can’t wait to meet her.”

“I think I’ll include her in our victory speech when we win the Super Bowl,” Raven chuckled.

“When do we get to meet her?” Atlas asked.

“Well, how about we rein her in slowly?” I suggested. “I mean, not for nothing, she really isn’t a fan of professional athletes.”

“I say we put Sparkly on the case,” Titan suggested. “If anyone can walk her through being in a family full of jackasses, it’s her.”

“He’s got a point, though I’m not a jackass,” Atlas replied.

“She should meet Starlight first, anyway,” Sebastian added. “I mean, sheisyour sister.”

“Me, Esme, Little Star, and Sebastian can go visit you after we win the Super Bowl,” Raven said. “She can meet Atlas and Titan later.”

“Why do I feel like the kid left behind?” Titan grumbled.

“Because we are,” Atlas snorted.

“I know you jerks aren’t on a conference call without me,” Nova said, her face popping up behind Sebastian’s.

“Busted,” Titan muttered.

“Love you, Twinkle,” Atlas announced, trying to save himself.

“Orion was just telling us that he’s in love,” Raven said, throwing me under the bus with no shame.

“With the basketball-player-hating-athlete-despising-violent-razor-tongued menace?” she asked, her face all smiles.
