“I’m sure it’s fine, and probably food related. Which sounds kind of wonderful right now.”
J.T. got up and put on his boxer shorts, then left the bedroom. When he opened the front door, he found a pink box sitting on the welcome mat. “Well, that looks innocuous enough.” He picked up the box and brought it into the bedroom. “I’m going to take a wild guess and say it’s not a bomb.”
Joey sat up. “Open it. I can smell the goodness from here.”
J.T. lifted the lid and found four bear claws and a half-dozen assorted muffins. He laughed. “Okay. I’m now totally onboard with Sage marrying Xander Hutchins.”
Joey took the box from him. “Will you go make us some coffee?”
“Yes, Josephina. I’ll go make some coffee.”
As he left, she called after him. “And some napkins.” She took a muffin from the box and smelled it. “Xander, you are such a nice guy.”
