“Jesus,” Sam grumbled. “What the hell all did you put in here?”

I looked to the word I’d written across the side in big black letters. “Books. There’s a dolly behind you if you finally want to admit defeat.”

He and I had been going steady since I pulled the truck up in front of my and Cheyanne’s home an hour ago, neither of us willing to slow down, trying to show each other up with who could carry the most boxes.

“Maybe you need a dolly. But I’m fine.”

His face was so red I was actually a little concerned he was about to pull something. But even with all his grumbling and complaining, the man had shown up to help me unload without me even having to ask. His silent approval as far as I was concerned.

“I’m growing on you,” I teased as I hefted a box of my own, this one much lighter than his. “Just admit it.”

“Like a fungus,” he groused before taking off toward the house.

Like I’d told Cheyanne, it was only a matter of time before that man and I were BFFs.

Moving down the ramp toward the walkway, I looked up and spotted Cheyanne standing in the opened doorway, her brilliant smile lighting my whole world as she waited for me to finish.

Oh yeah,I thought as I moved toward her, toward my future. This is most definitely my favorite place.

Cheyanne

Three and a half months later

“So? What do you think?”

I lifted the cup to my lips, keeping my eyes pinned on my sister as I took a slow sip, just to drag things out and drive her crazy.

“It’s...” I scrunched my lips to the side and feigned contemplation before finally admitting, “It’s really good.”

“See!” she crowed. “I told you. Muffin Top coffee is the best!”

Time had continued to tick by, the world had continued to spin, and after four months, I was finally in Hope Valley for my twin sister’s wedding.

Having a whole country between us after just finding each other wasn’t the easiest, but we talked and FaceTimed every single day. For Thanksgiving, we’d taken a trip to a place in Wyoming called Pembrooke to spend the holiday with Dalton’s family. They two of them had come back to Whitecap so we could have a big family Christmas. And now, we were finally getting to see the beauty that was my sister’s home.

And to finally put to rest the argument of who had the best coffee.

I held up my hand to stop her. “I didn’t say it was the best. I said it was really good. Now that I’ve tried it for myself, I have to agree with you that it’s tied with Drip. I can’t, in good conscience, pick a clear winner.”

She studied me for a second before nodding her head. “I can accept that. But wait until you try the cronuts. You’re going to lose your mind!”

God, I was happy to have my sister back.

Two dayslater

Crouchingdown in front of my daughter, I booped her nose and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. She looked so adorable in her little flower girl dress. And I’d only had to stop her once from ripping it off and running through the wedding venue in her underwear. That was winning.

“All right, doodle bug. You remember what to do?”

She nodded solemnly. “Yu-huh. I frow da flowers. Walk to da front. And go to Tent.”

“That’s right, baby. You ready?”

“Yeah!” she screamed with enthusiasm. A second later, the wedding coordinator opened the door to let her out. Before it closed behind her, I heard my girl shout so loud it could be heard over the music, “Hi Tent! Hi Unca Dolly! Look at my pwetty dwess!”
