“I’m sure you’ve been close to lots of women,” I teased.

“Sure, but nothing long-term or serious, though. Not ever more than one night, or a few nights here and there. I’ve never been in what most would call a real relationship.”

“Never?” I asked. “Not even in high school?”

“Maybe high school,” he mused. “But even then, it wasn’t that serious. It was young, first love. Having children with someone that you care about, that’s serious.”

“But it doesn’t have to be that serious, if we don’t want it to be,” I hedged, trying to play it off, not wanting to tell him the truth about how I really wanted it to be. I didn’t want to scare him off.

“Hmm, I guess not. We’ll just see where it goes,” he said.

“That sounds good,” I agreed. “Now what do you say I remind you of why you stayed the night?”

I crawled on top of him, kissing across his collarbone and the base of his throat. Adam groaned in response.

As I straddled him, I could feel his erection pressing up against my pussy. I gasped as Adam cupped my breasts before licking his lips, then looking up at my face.

“Going to ride me, baby?” he murmured, and heat flooded through me.

I guided him inside me, rocking my hips slowly, knowing from the last time we’d been in that position I would need to take some time to get used to it.

Adam waited, his breath short, not thrusting up beneath me like I knew he wanted to.

“Okay,” I said finally, feeling hot and near the edge of an orgasm as my pelvis bumped against his. “You can take over. I know you want to,” I teased.

I thought he was going to flip me over, but instead, he grabbed my hips and thrust up beneath me, rocking in and out of me hard and fast.

I sucked in a breath, my orgasm peaking immediately at the sudden change in friction, and he groaned and growled, coming inside me quickly.

“That should have lasted longer,” he complained. “But you’re so hot on top. Your breasts bouncing in my face...”

I giggled, feeling giddy, and collapsed on top of him, resting my head against his chest. I could hear his heartbeat, and it soothed me somehow.

“Did I do a good job of reminding you why you’re staying the night?” I asked, and Adam nodded, yawning again.

I drifted to sleep before he did, my body relaxing into his, my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

When I woke up, Adam was kissing along the side of my face. It was the first morning we’d woken up together, and I was elated that he was still there.

I smiled and turned to look at him. “Are you feeling feisty this morning?” I teased.

“Always,” he muttered, rolling his hips against me. But then he pulled away, to my disappointment. “But I’ve got plans for us today.”

“You do?”

I was surprised. Adam and I had never been on a real, official date, not since things had changed for us. “Where are we going?” I asked curiously.

“Somewhere that you won’t be able to go when you’re more pregnant,” he said mysteriously.

“What does that mean?” I asked, huffing out a breath and pouting.

Adam chuckled and kissed my cheek. “You’ll see.

I got dressed in a pair of jeans and a tank top, knowing it was hot out, and Adam put back on the clothes he was wearing the night before. He only looked a bit rumpled, and he ran his hand through his hair so that it wasn’t so sleep-mussed.

He looked cute, and I wanted to stare at him all morning, but apparently, Adam was on a mission.

He drove me to his airline, and I marveled at how big the building was.
