“That explains why you’re so beautiful.”

She let out a genuine laugh, head thrown back and all, then smiled and looked at me with her dazzling eyes. “Actually, I was beautiful before modeling; hence how I landed the job in the first place.”

I smiled. “Yes, I’m sure you’ve always been beautiful.” I watched as she licked her lower lip, her tongue slowly moistening it. I wanted to run my tongue over those lips. Theywere so close I could smell the bourbon on her breath and feel the warm breaths escaping her mouth. I leaned in and gave her a soft kiss; when she didn’t stop me, I started to explore her lips with my tongue. A little noise escaped the back of her throat as I nibbled on her bottom lip.

My tongue finding an opening, I entered her mouth to explore as our tongues danced together and drank in each other’s tastes. Her lips were soft and plump; she tasted like pure heaven, and I got lost in the passion. The kiss lasted for what felt like forever, but not long enough in the few minutes that escaped us. Coming up for air, our breaths labored, I realized my hand was resting on her upper thigh.

She moved in and settled down in the pit of my arm after taking a sip of her drink. We lay there in silence; now and then, one of us would point out a planet or a shooting star. Comfortable but on edge with built-up sexual tension, I knew I’d have her one day. She took my hand and put it across her as she leaned in and kissed me; this time she took the lead.

She explored every corner of my mouth, tongue, and neck. I let out a moan as she ran her tongue from my neck to inside my mouth. I could taste the salt from my skin on her tongue; her nipples swelled under my touch. Sliding my hand under her silk robe, I squeezed her nipple between my thumb and finger, rolling it and then tugging.

Not wanting the moment to end, I knew if we didn’t stop now, there would be no stopping. Coming up for air after she ravaged my mouth, my breathing labored, I looked into her eyes. “We should probably stop.”

“Yeah, I think you’re right.”

I bent over, gave her another soft kiss, stood up, and looked down at her. My erection clearly tented my lounge pants. I tried shifting some to make it more discreet, but it was useless. She stood, kissed me, and we said good night after I called for Simba to come with me.

“It was important for me to duck out of the fast and furious life I’d been living as a pop star. I was in a different mood.” Cat Stevens

I went inside and put our glasses in the dishwasher. I ached in all the right areas and was dripping with desire. My lips were chapped from his as I ran my tongue over them.God, he turns me on,I thought. Turning the lights out, I headed for my bedroom, still smelling, tasting, and feeling him. As I lay on the bed and put my hands under the pillow and my head, I thought,I needed a dog. He could keep me warm and keep me company.

I drifted off to sleep thinking about a dog, but my dreams turned to Parks soon enough. I dreamt of his mouth on me, sliding down and kissing every inch of my body. I felt him touch me, his eyes burning into my soul. I squirmed as desire burned, and just before he entered me, I jolted up in bed.

I looked around, startled and breathless, sweat beading on my forehead, and I took a sip of the water on the nightstand beside the bed. The dream had been so vivid and life-like.Why the hell did I have to wake up?I wondered. Lying there, staring at the ceiling, I could almost feel the aftereffects of an orgasm I might have had if I had stayed asleep. Flustered, I got out of bed and went to use the bathroom.

After I rinsed my flushed face and hands, I decided to go to the kitchen; turning on the light, I made a strong cup of coffee. It was almost four-thirty a.m. and there was no use in going back to sleep; it would never happen. I wandered around the kitchen, waiting for what seemed like forever for the Keurig to spit out a cup of coffee. After pouring some creamer into it, I went tothe living room and sat in front of the TV. Unable to keep my attention, I turned it off and went to the lanai with my coffee.

Plopping down on the Globo, it swung with my weight. I held the side until it wound down and I could sip my coffee. I picked up my phone and checked out social media with a sigh.

Looking around the lanai in the early morning moonlight, I pondered getting a two-seater table for enjoying meals instead of on the lounging furniture. My thoughts returned to the dream, as if it had a mind of its own.

Frustrated, I threw my hair up in a messy something on top of my head, with the ends sticking out in all directions. It felt like I had not finished a bun, just a messy blob of spikes coming out on all sides.

The sun started to come up and wake up the rest of the world with the promise of a beautiful autumn day. I returned to the kitchen for a second cup of coffee. While I waited, I unloaded the dishwasher. Excited about spending the evening catching up with El, I made a mental note of what was needed from the store.

After running a few errands and prepping for dinner and a shower, El had a cocktail with me in the kitchen. I had to admit, I was a little tired from the early rise that morning as I tried to hide a yawn.

“Am I keeping you awake?” El asked with a chuckle. I looked over at him and grinned.

“I was up at the ass crack of dawn. I had a dream that jolted me awake and I couldn’t fall back to sleep. Sorry, I’ll be fine once I eat.” We took our drinks outside to enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasted. We knew how quickly theweather could change in Florida and tried to appreciate it as much as possible.

“So, tell me, what’s been going on with you? How’s business? Any new kids popping in?”

Elliot smiled and told me the business was doing great. His face changed expressions as if something was on his mind. I could read him like a book.

“Out with it. What’s on your mind?” My full attention was on him as I switched from where I sat beside him to sit at the foot of the lounge to face him. He took a deep breath and wrung his hands, then shook them. After taking a sip of his drink, he began.

“There is something I need to tell you.” He paused and I nodded my head to say for him to go on.

“This is tough. We’ve been friends forever and I don’t want to lose that or hurt it.” It was my turn to be worried. I assured him nothing he could do or say would hurt our friendship. I took his hands and raised my chin for him to spit it out.

“Liv.” He cleared his throat. “I’m gay.”

I could not help myself; as my head tipped back, I stifled a laugh. I looked him in the eyes with pure love, leaned over, and kissed him on the cheek. “Oh, El. I already knew that. I was just waiting for you to realize it. You must remember we dated. I knew you were destined for something or someone special, but I knew that would be a man, not a woman.” His eyes grew larger as if they’d pop out of his head; he was shocked that I had figured it out. He’d been engaged and everything and thought he’d buried the fact that he was attracted to men. I studied hisface for a moment as realization kicked in; I squinted my eyes at him, my brows furrowed, “You’ve met someone, haven’t you?”

Elliot blushed and turned his head. “Lovey, you know I have!” His smile was huge as he was half thrilled and half embarrassed.
