Flashes from cameras go off, but all I can see is Luc in front of me holding the engagement ring.
“Autumn Jakobe, my Venus, you are everything to me. It would mean the world if you became my wife. Will you?”
“Oh my God. Yes. A million, million yesses and more.” I don’t realize I’m crying until I move and a tear splashes onto my arm.
Luc looks relieved as if he’d contemplated the possibility that I could say no.
“Thank you,my wife.” He smiles and slips the ring on my finger.
We kiss, and people cheer for us.
“You are all I ever wanted, Autumn,” he mutters in my ear.
“And you, Luc.”
I never knew the meaning of love until I met him.

Six weeks ago, the Hawks won the Cup series again and I led the team to victory as their captain.
Of all the wins we’ve ever had this one felt like the epitome. It was more than I ever dreamed it could be. But nothing,absolutely nothing,can describe the feeling that swelled my heart when I searched the crowd and found my girl cheering for me.

I’m at home with her now. She’s upstairs getting ready to leave for the airport in an hour. We’re going to my summer home on Antigua for a month.
I’ve already taken her to Paris and Italy, and we spent a week on Knight’s Island in Saint Tropez.
She thinks this getaway is going to be like the others but it won’t.
Unknown to her, we’re getting married in two days.
The plan was to discuss a potential wedding date on our return, but I had a better idea. An idea her parents helped me put together.
Following Charlotte and Cole’s wedding, Shawn and Marie still had the wedding buzz so they were only too happy to help.
In two days, her family and mine, along with our closest friends, will join us on the beautiful white sand beach to watch us say I do.
I’m waiting for Hunter to bring me the keys to the house. He was in Antigua last weekend for business.
Autumn rushes down the stairs with one of her many suitcases. She’s so excited she bounces toward me.
“I can’t wait to get there Luc. I’ve been looking at all the amazing things we can do on the island.” She squeals and jumps into my arms.
“We’re going to have a blast.”And she’ll come back carrying my name.

“I think I’ve finally got everything packed. But I’m going to double-check.” She giggles.
“Alright, Venus. I’ll just be down here waiting for Hunter.” I kiss her again quickly.
“Okay.”
