I take in her hourglass shape, framed by her tailored blazer and slim-fitting pencil skirt. It gives her this professional yet edgy look that was undeniably attractive. I have to restrain the impulse to just pull her in by the waist and press my lips on hers. My cock starts twitching just from the thought of it, so I quickly stand up to greet her.

“Hello, Mr. Cooper,” Emily says to me, giving me a wave. “My name is Emily Montgomery.”

My eyes widen, momentarily confused about why she would introduce herself to me.

That’s when it hits me…

She doesn’t know who I am.

When we hooked up at the party, we were wearing masks. She took hers off, but I never took mine off.

“Hello,” I say, waving back. “Alexander Cooper. You must be here for the interview.”

Emily nods.

Attractive and… sexy, I find myself thinking as she walks closer.

But as quickly as those thoughts surface, I push them away. She's my friend's sister, and now, she is also my employee. I can’t afford to think of her in that way. I must maintain a professional demeanor and keep any personal feelings at bay.

Yet, there is no denying that Emily has found her place in my mind.

As we stand at the front of the deck, a woman with blonde hair and glasses walks up behind Emily. She carries herself with a confident air as she extends a hand in my direction.

“Mr. Cooper—I'm April Skylark,” she introduces herself. “I'm here to cover this meeting for the Miami Times. Pleased to meet you.”

I shake April's hand and nod politely. "Thank you for coming," I reply, keeping my tone professional despite the unease that lingers within me from being near Emily.

I walk Emily and April to the front of the deck, the wooden planks feeling solid beneath my feet. As we move, I contemplate Ben's instructions to make a “show” of this meeting. It's clear he wants to impress the media and change the marina’s image, and that's why I've called in the news crew. As Emily and April stand before me, I hatch a plan to take them on a ride aboard my yacht while the interview commences. This way, I can showcaseSovereign Harbor's “commitment” to the environment in a dramatic and captivating manner.

Once on board, I glance over at the control room, and through the window, I signal to Nathan with a nod. He immediately understands and gets to work, preparing the yacht for departure. As I watch, the engines rumble to life, and I feel the familiar sensation of the boat starting to move.

The plan is in motion.

“Oh, wow,” Emily says, clearly startled by the movement.

“Don’t worry,” I say. “I hope you ladies enjoy your time on Sovereign Harbor today. Just ask my first mate if you need anything. We have food, drinks—anything you need. Just taking a cruise around for a bit.”

“Nice touch,” April smiles.

“Thank you. Please, have a seat,” I offer, gesturing towards the plush lounge chairs near the front of the yacht. “Make yourselves comfortable.”

I can feel a sense of anticipation in the air as they settle into their seats. The yacht gently glides through the marina, and I can't help but wonder how they'll react to the stunning views and the unexpected journey I have in store for them.

Already set up near us is a glass table to display a bottle of champagne and a collection of flutes.

“Shall we?” I say, expertly popping the cork and pouring the sparkling liquid into their glasses. The effervescent bubbles rise to the top, creating a fizzy cascade of golden refreshment. I hand each of them a glass with a polite nod.

“Here's to a successful interview,” I say, raising my glass slightly before taking a sip. The cool champagne dances on my tongue, a pleasant distraction from the tension that's been building since their arrival.

April takes out her digital voice recorder, her fingers poised above the buttons, ready to capture our conversation. Thesetting sun casts a warm, golden hue over the marina, creating the perfect ambiance for our meeting.

Emily leans forward, her eyes intense as she addresses me.

“This is April Skylark of theMiami Times,” the reporter says into her voice recorder. “I am here with Alexander Cooper, owner of Sovereign Harbor. Accompanying him is Emily Montgomery, a local environmentalist working to help our community. Emily, what do you have to say to Mr. Cooper?”

Emily smiles at April and then faces me.

“Mr. Cooper,” she begins, her voice earnest, “you have hired me as an environmental consultant. Do you understand the massive environmental footprint that your marina has made in our ecosystem?”
