“I didn’t know you had so many knives,” he says, amazement coloring his tone.

I walk up behind him and wrap an arm around his waist.

“Just wait till you see all the guns.” I punctuate that by grinding into his ass. His nostrils flare, and he bites his lip, pushing back into me, silently wanting more.

Such a needy little pet.

“As much as I want you, we don’t have time for this, Havoc.” He tries to sound serious, but I swear he moans my name like a prayer. The three of us have been insatiable since moving in together.

Reluctantly, I let go because he’s right. Grabbing a harness to strap weapons into, I motion for Arrow to do the same.

“So how are we going to find a place where we can be tracked, yet can ensure our safety?” he asks.

He runs a hand over a unique double bladed knife I found in Asia before sliding it into his thigh holster.

It almost reminds me of E. I pause as he grabs a bow and some arrows with explosive tips. Watching him suit up is so hot I have to adjust myself in my pants. I clear my throat once all the holds are full of weapons.

“Easy, Damien already has one.”

???

After coordinating withE that Laney was safe with her, Arrow and I head into the cathedral that Damien purchased a few months ago. The bunker in the back is still a safe place to hide, and I memorized some of the tunnels, so I have a plan for today.

The best way to lure out an enemy is to make them think you’re planning something. And I am, just not what they might be thinking. It’s kind of like that game where you hide a ball under a cup, then shuffle them only to trick the player by making the ball disappear.

“This is where they held the round table?” Arrow asks as we walk inside. “And the wedding?”

“Yup. Damien bought it because they wouldn’t let him rent it. There are a few advantages to the property.”

I push open the doors to the castle-like church and head inside. I already have my guys scoping out the area, so I know we are safe. I’d taken every precaution when I called my team while trying to force this woman's hand.

“What do you remember about your mother?” I ask Arrow as we head to the stage. I know exactly where we can stay out of the line of sight so that they have to come in if they want to get a shot off.

“Not a lot.” He looks around the large room, and the twinkle in his eye says he admires every bit of the history in here. The stained glass windows that recreate stories of long ago. The architecture of the room and the stage. He takes it all in with fascination.

He’s such a nerd. It’s adorable.

“How old were you when you got away?”

He tilts his head, taking a minute to think. “I honestly don’t remember. I feel like there’s something important I need to remember, but it’s like I have brain fog or something.”

I nod and lead him to the room that’s reinforced with concrete and steel. Keeping the door open, I unpack my rifle while he takes a seat on the bench inside.

“Maybe Dr. K can help?” I suggest. We were both a fan of Laney talking to her, maybe we should all go see her since things have changed again. Alexi still has her employed by the Bratva, so I’m sure he won’t care.

“I don’t know how I feel about that. I don’t really know her.” He leans forward in his seat as I attach the long range scope to my gun. His expression sours the more he seems to focus on the situation.

“Hey, what are you thinking?”

Arrow’s eyes meet mine, reflecting the pain in them.

“I’ve been having these dreams. They’re all different but part of them feels like a memory. I can’t seem to filter through it though. Right when I wake up, I forget.”

I peek out the door and look around before giving Arrow my attention again.

“Do you think they are about your mother?”

“I don’t really know…I think maybe she…”
